Throughout the times, humans have quarreled over whether they evolved from primates or not. And while this theory remains unproven as right or wrong, we now have proof that evolution does exist in at least some form. So long has mankind experimented with nuclear substances. And although tiny traces of radioactivity do little to nothing to anyone, all humans are different. Some seemingly random people have lost their immunity to the nuclear activity. They have become vulnerable to it and as a result, small traces of nuclear material seep into their bodies. These people are completely unaffected themselves, but the radioactivity is passed on during reproduction, giving their children what has been called the Archelu strain. The Archelu strain generally takes effect through one of two ways: it either slowly emerges as the host ages, gradually granting the individual unique abilities, or it comes to fruition all at once in a traumatic experience, awakening the host into a world where they possess infinite potential. The abilities vary from host to host, but the result is always the same: superhuman as well as inhuman powers and skills. The host’s strength or speed may increase, they may become able to fly, or even the most unusual and unheard of abilities may arise within them. Some consider this a curse. Others, a blessing. Either way, these men and women are the next evolution of humans. Many normal people hate every last one of these hosts for being what they are. Others are bigger fans than the most extreme science fiction or fantasy addicts. One cause of this division is that as each host’s powers emerge, they face a decision so important that it directs the fate of the entire world. This decision is exactly how they should choose to use their powers. Some show responsibility and fight crime and injustice valiantly. Others waste their talents on fulfilling their own desires. Whatever their answer, it affects everyone and everything on this planet. You may choose to live in darkness, light, or the gray between the two ends of the spectrum. You may seem to be implacable upon that spectrum due to such a complex mindset. You may have special strengths, but you also possess weaknesses, so keep that in mind. Obviously, you shouldn’t godmod/godmode. Please do not come up with a too long or hard to pronounce name (ex.- Xholeiaryutmn [wtf?]). If you think that there is any chance of a pronunciation error with anyone, include after the name the sound of it in parenthesis making sure to be specific with pronunciation and accents. (ex.- Frishkor (FREESH-kor) note: that is a stupid name to use in this RPG. This isn’t D&D or Elder Scrolls, this is about superheroes). Try not to fight with any other RPer’s characters too much. I understand some conflict, but I will create the villains and all for us to really fight for the story. This is a Mature-rated RP, so you do have the privilege of moral freedom. However, this does not mean that you can abuse this privilege and constantly do these things. Please be considerate and only use such actions when tasteful and helpful for the story and your character. Real Name: Alias: Sex: Age: Normal Appearance: Costumed Appearance: Morality: (Good, evil, or in between. If necessary, you can be more specific and use percentages or something) Stats: (1-10 scale. 1=average human. 35 points to distribute) Strength- (Offensive power) Endurance- (Defensive power) Speed- (Swiftness of movement such as running and flight) Agility- (Quickness of movements such as evasive maneuvers. Also involves one’s acrobatic skills) Intelligence- (Most of you should be normal intelligence, ie-1, unless your power involves a high intelligence) Physical Combat- (Melee fighting skills) Magical Combat- (Fighting skills using ki, spells, or other paranormal projectiles) Archelu Abilities: (5 max. You don’t have to include super strength/speed, etc. If it is a result of your stats, leave it out) Weaknesses: (More than one. Even Superman had 2, even if they were bizarre) History: (How you got your powers [traumatic experience, aging, etc.], the results, etc.) Other: (Any other important information such as any weapons, home, school, etc.) Real Name: Shawn Thompson Alias: Midas Sex: Male Age: 20 Normal Appearance: Shawn Differences with the pic is that the white t-shirt has a normal t-shirt collar and is loose like a normal t-shirt. He usually also wears an unbuttoned colored shirt over the t-shirt. His hair is much looser and longer as well on the sides and front (much like this if the hair was dry: Hair) He stands at 6 feet tall. Costumed Appearance: Midas The only differences are that his neck is covered by fabric (the mask is a hood to the rest of the costume) and that his entire right arm and shoulder is gold rather than only the forearm. Morality: Good, but may sometimes do what better suits his own desires rather than what is good for others. Stats:Strength- 7 Endurance- 9 Speed- 2 Agility- 3 Intelligence- 2 Physical Combat- 8 Magical Combat- 4 Archelu Abilities:Smelt (aka “King’s Touch”)- Can change anything he touches to metal (any metal he chooses) Cast- Can reshape any metal object as he pleases, as long as the overall volume remains the same (due to the law of conservation of matter). Magnetism- Can move metal objects anywhere at will. The larger the object, the harder it is to move. Luster- Can change any part of himself into metal and reshape it at will, allowing him to do anything from change his arm into a sword to entirely becoming a pool of liquid metal (Much like in “The Secret World of Alex Mack” and the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day) Structure- The more intense his emotions and feelings become, whatever they may be, the more of his bone structure turns to metal. This makes him stronger, but slows him down as well. Weaknesses: His main weakness is electricity, as the metal he uses could become a lightning rod for him at any moment. Another of his weaknesses is his knight-like tendency to throw caution to the wind to rescue any “damsel in distress”. History: His powers started to develop when he was a young boy. He didn’t know how to control them at first and gave himself many scars on his arms, legs, and torso. He earned himself many trips to the emergency room, but no one ever knew how he got hurt, always chocking it up to him just seeming to be quite “accident prone”. Now that he’s older, he has learned to control most of his powers. He has even gone as far as to lead a double life, acting as a vigilante as the costumed hero “Midas”. He now lives in a townhouse in west Lockport, about a ten minute drive from the college he attends, Lockport University. Other: (none now; might add later)

Real Name: Serena Velvette Alias: Sex: Female Age: 23
Normal Appearance: Serena stands at a statuesque 5'11", making her taller than some men, which can sometimes be intimidating. Her body is muscular, very athletic, almost as if she's spent her life playing sports. She has long, billowy black hair, soft as velvet (hardy har har) and absolutely gorgeous. Dark green, almost black, eyes, and a soft, feminine face grace her head. Some would consider her attractive, but the athletic build and tall height turn some men off. She normally wears "guy clothes", a T-shirt and jeans and sneakers, which look fairly natural on her and which make her feel comfortable.
Costumed Appearance: She wears no costume. Her normal appearance is the same.
Morality: Good
Stats: Strength- 8 Endurance- 8 Speed- 2 Agility- 2 Intelligence- 4 Physical Combat- 8 Magical Combat- 3
Archelu Abilities: *Empathy: This is Serena's strongest and earliest-found ability. She can read the emotions put out by anyone she's near, almost as if she was reading their minds. It is NOT telepathy, though...She cannot read thoughts, only the emotions that accompany those thoughts. Skin-to-skin contact makes the effect even more dramatic, and very intense, but she can read the emotions of anyone within 50 yards of her. She can also drown out the emotions if she wishes. *Project: She can project emotions to those she wishes. It's a way for her to battle. If she finds herself confronted with a lot of anger and hostility, she can project emotions of calmness and tranquility, which sometimes helps. She can also enrage someone, which causes more mistakes and yet sometimes makes them stronger. Projection can be very powerful, but it does not include projecting thoughts. *Polyform: This is a secondary power, but coupled with the fact that she is intensely strong, even for a "superhero", it is her most offensive power. When physical contact is made with her, anything that is strong enough to register as "pain" over her nerves, she instantly and inexplicably makes a copy of herself. Anything touching her skin, not counting what caused the pain, is copied, including clothes and weapons. The original form still retains the injury, but the copy itself is whole unless she is dealing with a previous injury. (For example, if someone cut her once, she'd have a copy with no cut, but if someone cut her once again, she'd have another copy, but with only one cut, not two). The effect is cumulative: she can have as many copies as you can imagine. This also makes her nearly invulnerable, because even though she gets hurt, there is always another copy of her created. However, something like a high explosive would kill her literally before she can copy herself a safe distance away.
Weaknesses: *The copies of herself, her clones so to speak, only last for a couple minutes at most, but at least 40 seconds. So even though there can be literally thousands of clones, they will not last long enough to make an army, and cannot completely outnumber a sizeable group. According to the laws of physics, she can only have so many before the rest start disappearing. *Her body is not physically invulnerable. She can be hurt, and her copies can be killed off. Even the original body can be killed off. But there is usually another copy to take its place. *When the copies disappear, what they actually do is recombine with the oldest copy present and/or the original. When this happens, everything that the copy felt, thought, heard, experienced, everything it possibly went through is assimilated by the oldest copy and/or original. Usually this means that, if a copy was badly hurt, the original will feel the pain when it recombines. Also, if the copy underwent serious problems when it existed, the oldest copy and/or original will be knocked out of battle, either by the pain or the shock of assimilation. If the original dies, however, the next oldest copy takes its place as "the original", and the whole time length of the copy becomes null and void. The copy and/or the original that can reassimilate the other copies becomes the permanent one. *Serena cannot turn off her empathy. Through her life, she has learned how to adapt and drown out the emotions that she feels around her. But she is constantly bombarded with readings from other people, and this can be very distressing at times.
History: Serena has gained her powers gradually over the years. Her parents were exposed to nuclear power when they conceived her, and this has transferred to Serena quite naturally. It was nothing at first.... sometimes she could detect how people were feeling even as a young child, and could understand and empathize with others better than anyone her age. As time went on, she got clearer, stronger, better able to control it. She learned how to project emotions onto others. And she got physically stronger and stronger. There seemed to be no end to her strength. She played sports, mainly soccer and field hockey when she could, but she began training alone so no one would suspect the fact that lifting 400 pounds was nothing for her.
However, three years ago, she was confronted by a group of men with obvious bad intentions on the way to her college dorm room. She could feel their lust, their aggressiveness, and knew their intentions. One held a knife to her throat, as the others began to undress her roughly. In a taste of sadism that nearly made her scream in disgust, the one holding the knife began to carve a line of blood into her neck. It all happened faster than she could have expected, and even though she knew she had superhuman strength, she was too shocked to do anything. As the pain registered, she felt something happen inside of her, and as the fear almost took control, she Polyformed. It didn't take long for her to dispatch her attackers, once she realized what had happened. Since then, she's been learning the extents of her powers. Since she doesn't look like a mutated human, and since she can easily blend in with a crowd, plus the fact that she can detect when someone is aggressive or suspicious of her, she can easily run under the radar and let no one know about her powers. But hit her once, and she copies, and then things get ugly.
Other: She has graduated college with a degree in Psychology and is now a very successful young social worker at a nearby mental clinic. She is VERY good at her job, for obvious reasons.

Real Name: Julie Alias: Vixen Sex: Female Age: 25 Normal Appearance: Julie has shoulder length brown hair with light blonde highlights. She almost looks too innocent to be any type of fighter. Her clothing mainly consists of casual jeans, sandals and a tank with a zip up sweater, or a long skirt. Costumed Appearance: An angled helmet takes on a similar shape of a fox, two wide pointed 'ears' sit atop this helmet and do enhance hearing, while the polarized visor lens can enhance her vision and senses. Her entire outfit is black and tight fitting as to bring less restriction. Wears studded bottom boots that go up to mid-shin, gloves with four long (retractable) blades protruding. A smokey grey fox tail with a white tip is behind her, while two straps crossing each other across her back and front hold two katanas. Morality: Good, though fights an evil inside of her. Stats:Strength- 3 Endurance- 3 Speed- 7 Agility- 7 Intelligence- 6 Physical Combat- 6 Magical Combat- 3 Archelu Abilities: Stealth - Vixen is able to make herself invisible though it drains energy and she cannot afford to be weakened too much. Transformation - while it's not an ability she can entirely control, she can keep herself from getting too weak (more details in other) Hypnotize - If Vixen begins to move in an certain way, her body can hypnotize the enemy into a trance. If they keep watching they will simply stand there doing nothing which could come in handy when fighting. Will only work on male villians. Summon- another ability she herself cannot do, only the demon. The demon can summon imps, they stand only 3' tall and are quite easily killed, though don't get bitten! Those teeth are serrated and the mouth can get a good big hold of you. History: Julies history is a dark one with many suicidal attempts. At this point she was dealing with Alameado, 'course her body wasn't big or strong enough for the demon so he could simply talk to her, try and convert her to evil, but he could never fully break her down. She came from a broken home and ended up living with her grandparents, when they died she was old enough to be out on her own and lived off the inheritance. Got herself educated as an illustrator and currently lives in a small apartment. Other: Julie/Vixen is tainted with a darkness she is finding hard to defeat. If weakened a demonic spirit trapped inside her is able to take shape and stay in its form until it is severely weakened, in which case Julie can take back to human form. Often times it goes on a destructive rampage slappingpaint.net/TK_2002_demonwinner.htmlAlameado is this demons name and stands about 15' tall. Strength- 9 Endurance- 8 Speed- 3 Agility- 2 Intelligence- 3 Physical Combat- 8 Magical Combat- 2 This is a powerful opponant, but once weakened Julia can take back her body. To kill Alameado is to kill Julie.

Shawn Thompson sat at home on Sunday night studying his notes for the midterms that began the next day. He used to not study at all, but college quickly taught him otherwise. As he tried to concentrate on the material, his thoughts were broken by the sound of screeching tires and the sirens of police cars. Shawn sighed and closed his eyes, cursing the occurrence. As he stood, he looked out of the second story window in the townhouse he lived in. The red and blue lights were just fading as the Lockport PD pursued their suspects. The young college student gave one final sigh before placing his hands on his chest. As he did so, his casual everyday clothes melted to a gleaming silver color before reshaping into the thin metal fibers of the one piece costume suit of the vigilante hero, Midas.
Midas opened the window and leaped out of it, his arguably human body quickly plummeting to the earth before morphing into a huge drop of liquid metal. The silver rain splashed on the ground before rapidly reforming together and racing down the sidewalk as it slowly took the form of the man known city-wide as Midas. As his shape returned, he ran as fast as he could, following the sounds of the sirens. As he approached an intersection, he heard the alarming sound growing louder. He reached into the pouch on his right thigh, removing several small metal balls and clenching his fist around them. As he loosened his grip, a few small ninja throwing knives could be seen as the orbs' replacers.
The burglars' truck sped through the road perpendicular to him and as it passed, he raised his arm and threw the blades true. At least one had hit its mark as the front right tire blew and the truck spun out of control. The vehicle fell to its side and skid to a stop. As the police stopped and left the confines of their cars to draw their weapons at the criminals, the desperate men quickly emerged from the wreckage and used it as a large shield as they opened fire at the officers with submachine guns and semi-automatic weapons.
Hoping to save the lawmen, Midas grasped a nearby phone booth at the sides and changed it into a touch steel quickly, reforming it to a large wall a couple inches thick. He tore the shield from the earth and lunged it in between the two assaulting sides. The wall crashed between them in surprise and shock to every man there. As the criminals turned to see him, they were faced with a vigilante charging full speed at them, his fist poised for attack like a scorpion's stinger. They averted their fire from the steel-protected officers to fire upon them, an action which did more damage than good to their plan as the bullets ricocheted off, some of which returned to the shoulders and flanks of their senders. Anger and surprise turned to shock and terror as the men watched a bulletproof man speed at them and punch the first with a hard right to the jaw. The attacked outlaw flew backwards at great velocity before hitting the wall of an apartment behind him hard, forcing him to fall and writhe in pain.
At this point, the other criminals dropped their weapons and raised their hands in surrender. Midas turned to look at them, greeted by eyes of anger and fear, not to mention one or two pairs of eyes filled with tears. Midas couldn't help but to smile the slightest of smirks at his success. However, his inner celebration was cut short as the policemen had moved around the steel wall in curiosity of the happenings. The closest, a man who seemed obviously to be a superior to the others in status raised his handgun to the hero, shouting at him, "Midas! Your reckless, vigilante actions have long since earned you a warrant for your arrest! Put your hands behind your head and come peacefully or we will obtain you by force!"
Another sigh escaped the young helper's breath as he melted where he stood, turning to another pool of metal before snaking away while bullets ricocheted off of the ground around him.

"They don't understand do they?" Midas heard a females voice but saw no one. "We help them out, save their butts, subdue the guilty faster than they ever could, and what happens?" The bullets became few and far between, however the cops were starting to climb into their cruisers to take pursuit. "I am sick of the cops, but I still help fight crime. I swear they are trying to get us, only because we handle the bad guys better than they." There was a flicker, a mere illusion of a being, running alongside him, but it wasn't an illusion. It was Vixen.

"So, you know, I went up to the private room with her, and, well...."
Serena didn't need to ask her patient how he felt about what had happened between him and the girl at the club. She knew exactly what he was feeling.
"So then, when you were done, what happened? Did you take her home?"
"Well....I...."
"Say no more. I understand." The patient sighed in relief at the chance to avoid talking about it. "Listen, this is what you need to think about..."
Serena was good at her job. Hell...she was amazing. Her patients were overwhelmingly happy with her as a social worker, and as a human being. She never got a complaint against her, always knew what to say to her patients, and made an excellent amount of money and a good amount of prestige working where she did. There was no better social worker or psychotherapist in Lockport, and Serena knew it. But that didn't make her cocky; it made her happy. She loved helping people. She loved making them feel good, and helping them to conquer their problems. And most of all, she loved understanding. To understand was her goal, be it understanding a psychiatric concept or a psychotic mind. She strove to understand the world around her, and her success was encouraging.
Their hour was done. Politely, she said goodbye to her patient and he walked away from the clinic very relieved. Well, he wasn't the only one relieved. Serena didn't usually work Sundays, but he had been in emotional trouble, and needed her advice. She completely understood, and saw him right away. But now it was Sunday night, and she had to get back home, because Monday she would see her normal patients just as usual, her first around 9:00. She packed up her things, and said goodbye to Christi, the overnight receptionist at the clinic. Christi waved happily to her, and she left, heading down the street with her purse over her shoulder.
She looked left and right, forward and back, as she walked down the street. And of course, she spread her empathic net out around her, searching for nearby people. There was no one on the streets. Well...good. That made things easier. She slid her purse over her neck, so that it stretched crosswise over her chest, and smiled. Then she began to run.
She was faster than an average human, her powers giving her abilities beyond those of normal people. But she was not blindingly fast. However, what she did possess was incredible endurance. She could run at a good clip for miles at a time, and not feel winded at all. Since she didn't have a car, this was how she usually traveled. Running. She took off at a sprint, but slowed it down to a fast jog after a few moments. She could keep up this pace for hours.
As she was running, she noticed some specks of activity on her empathic net at the next intersection. She could see the flashing lights and hear the sirens, but what she mostly knew came to her over her powers. There was confusion, fear, rage, and pain. Interesting. A violent crime scene?
She came around the corner just in time to see the bullets start to fly. She watched as a metallic puddle disappeared down an alleyway to the side, while three or four police officers shot at it wildly, and the rest were gathering up the criminals on the side of a metal wall. She felt emotions coming from the moving puddle of metal, and knew it was another Archelu human. And she felt no fear from it either. Obviously, something good had just happened. Wait...wait. She knew who that was!
Instantly, she began to project a calming emotion onto the policemen and the criminals. To the criminals, she made it severely strong, almost to the point of sleep. To the police, she simply made their anger begin to dissipate. Picking up speed, she ran past the policemen, who looked at her dumbly, a bit confused as to why a woman was sprinting through the crime scene.
"Sorry boys, gotta run!" She yelled over her shoulder, and disappeared down the alley that she had seen the metallic puddle slink down.
She could feel people ahead of her on her empathic net, and knew she was losing ground. So she yelled out, as loud as she possibly could, before the people ahead could get out of earshot.
"MIDAS! Wait a second! I'm not a cop! Just....hold on a sec!"
She ran faster, and hoped he would stop for just a moment to let her catch up.

Midas stopped quickly as he heard the disembodied voice. These weren't his own thoughts running through his head. They sounded feminine and direct, as if someone was speaking to him. He looked around without taking back his human form just yet, a particular part of the ability he called "Luster" that he could not understand. As he saw that seemingly illusion of a being, he could tell she contained the Archelu strain. With hesitation, he started to move back to his human form. As his costumed shape took on once more, he glared at the woman with suspicion not knowing whether her intentions were true or if she followed a darker path than he.
He opened his mouth to speak to her, but then he heard another person call out his alias name. Assuming she was a reporter of some kind, he grunted and whipped his head towards a dumpster sitting against the other side of the alleyway. Beside it lied an aluminum trash can. The lid lifted easily and swiftly float into Midas' hand before melting and changing to the shape of a simpler metal disk, large enough for him to stand on. Midas dropped the plate at his own feet before stepping on.
As the platform rose into the air, Midas looked down at the first girl and then at the woman he thought to be a reporter that had caught up to the scene. No matter what he wanted to know about this strange fox-like woman, he had no need for reporters twisting his words and spreading rumors about him. Much less for anyone to recognize his voice. After all, it was just that kind of publicity that had caused the policemen to fire upon him only moments before.

(Better late then never i suppose >.> ) Real Name: Skylana Haven Alias: Dark-Sky Sex: Female Age: 17 Normal Appearance: Skylana has waist length, straight, black hair that has a bluish cast to it when light hits it. Her eyes are a stunning amber-gold stands at about an inch short of six foot. Her build is lithe and supple yet despite this she wears a fitted black t-shirt, lose black jeans and a black ankle length coat. It doesn’t matter where she is in public Skylana always wears it, even on a hot day. This is in fact to hide her wings which are pressed tightly against her back. They are with her constantly regardless. Her wings are a stunning blue-black with the feathers having the same blue sheen to them as her hair. The feathers along the bottom edge of her wings however are a vibrant electric-blue colour at their tips. And her wingspan reaches something close to 15 ft across. Costumed Appearance: Dark-Sky When she transforms Skylana’s hair turns shock white and her eyes become a vibrant sapphire blue. This is achieved through her magic. Morality: Undecided -Stats-[/u] Strength- 2 Endurance- 7 Speed- 8 Agility- 7 Intelligence- 1 Physical Combat- 1 Magical Combat- 9 -Archelu Abilities- [/b] Skylana can see as well in the dark as she can in the day. Her eyesight is also sharper and more precise then a typical humans. [2] Pin Feather: She sends magically enhanced feather darts at her enemies. They cut flesh and can shred steel if enough hit it. [3] Razor Wind: She Casts a gust of powerful wind at her enemies that cut at them with the shrapnel and debris it picks up. The wind encircles her enemies and keeps hitting them until it loses it strength. [4] Falcon Strike: This attack is dangerous, it is one of her most powerful next to Ghost Wing. In this attack Skylana strikes an enemy as a Falcon would, swooping in at high speed and ramming her body into them. The only difference is they take all the damage while she gets out of it unharmed. This is because of her magical strength. She cloaks herself in a protective and damaging shield of magic that will protect her but severely hurt her enemies. [5] Ghost Wing: This attack is almost identical to Falcon Strike except Skylana uses a ghosting image to pull it off. The catch is the ghosting image is very real in the damage it dose striking from the front while she shrikes from behind dealing twice the damage in one hit. Sometimes she even strikes from the front while her visage strikes from behind its impossible to tell which is the real Skylana. [/ul] Weaknesses: Anything that can hurt a normal person. Skylana isn’t immune to anything she’s as fragile as any normal human being. The only difference is she has wings, is magically powerful and damned fast. History: Skylana was never much of an overly social person, it wasn’t until she reached her fifteenth birthday however that her wings started to appear. She could never tell what it was that set off her mutation escape that for the first few months before they started to appear her back and shoulders hurt. It was a constant unrelenting ache that didn’t dissipate until her wings finally started to grow. It took the better part of a year for them to reach their 15 foot span. While that happened she also discovered her magic. It was stress and frustration that brought that particular talent out of her. Having been pushed beyond reason with the pain in her back she directed her anger at a piece of furniture and caused it to explode into flames. Since then she’s developed those talents while learning how to fly. Only relatively new to flight but able to control her magic Skylana is still learning having only had full use of her abilities for a year. She left home not long after her wings started to grown and got a job working with a PI, she does most of the latenight watching and hte paperwork for him and he pays her wlel enough. The guy was even nice enough to find a place for her to stay and never questioned her about her peculiar habbit of always wearing her coat. Other: Lives alone in a small apartment and works doing latenight snooping for her boss. The PI's name is Andrew Krendal.

Skylana couldn't help herself as she watched the attack take place and hte intervention of the vigilante Midas. Having her camera with her Skylana had taken a few excelent shots of his intervention and then soem more as the Police tried to arrest him too. She smiled knowing a newspaper would pay hansomly for photos like that. So what if she worked for a PI she could freelance on the side too if she wanted.
Watching him melt away and slide off she followed him her owl like sight allowing her to follow him even in the dark. As she followed at a distance keeping ot the shadows she heard voices and hid. Keeping out of sight in the shadows. It was just in time too because a woman came running out of nowhere behind her and went right past callnig Midas' name. That was peculiar, so steeling her courage she crept closer still and saw three people talking. Midas, a woman and Vixen! This was too good.
Lifting her cameral Skylana watched them through the camera and then took thier pictre, unfortunatly there was a flash on the camera and it drew the attention of all three of them.
"Ah shit..." she put her camera away and ran then before any of them gave chase. Not that they could catch her, she had yet ot meet anyone who could, especialy when she took to the air. While she ran she adjusted her wings loosening them against her back, ready for use if it turnse serious. hopefuly they wouldn't give chase but then again...

The platform rose quickly into the air, carrying Midas with it, and Serena nearly swore in frustration. She didn't quite see the Vixen standing there, but what she did see was the disappearing Midas, and knew that she couldn't catch him. Not now. She had no powers of flight, and he was rising faster than she could leap, no matter how powerful and strong she was. No, he was out of range, and there was nothing she could do.
However....
A flash startled her from her slowing run. A camera! Turning, she saw someone standing in the shadows off to the side, a form with large shoulders and the camera in question. Damn! Reporters! Serena nearly panicked. She had to stop that from being seen! If she was seen with other Archelites, seen in the dark in an alley with Midas, her career was doomed. The clinic would persecute her for having powers, she'd lose all the faith of her clients, and she'd be jobless in no time. Especially when connected with Midas! No, she couldn't let this get out.
She saw the figure bolt off into the darkness and instantly gave chase. She may not be super fast, but she was determined, and had certain...other abilities. As she ran, she began pounding herself on the chest, hard enough to leave bruises for later. Not that it mattered. With each physical pain, she Polyformed, multiplying herself a dozen times. Soon, there was a couple dozen Serenas, all racing down the alley towards the moving figure. And then, in a burst of inspiration, she began to do something that seemed...a bit strange. One of the Serenas would leap into the air, and then the one behind that clone would catch her. With a heave of superhuman muscles, the clone on the ground would throw the clone in the air forward, just as hard as possible. She could lift trucks, she was strong enough to make other heroes quake, and so throwing her own lithe body was not an issue. The Serena clone would sail through the air, and hit the ground, usually stumbling (check her agility) but most of the time rolling and then launching back up to her feet. Somehow, this weird method of transportation, throwing one clone after another after another, was definitely helping. She found that three of the clones were getting quite close now to the running figure, and more were being thrown every second. This was all done as quickly as possible, and the original Serena watched with pride as the clones made serious headway.....

Skylana turned sharply down one of the alley's and jumped catching the upper rung of a fire escape. and climbed pulling it back up after her, she then climbed up several ladders until she was a few stories high, by then her persuer or rather pesuers were already in the alley, they had undoubtedly heard the rattle and groan of hte ladder being pulled down too because they were all looking up. Thye probibly thouhgt she was trapped up here too, how wrong thye were, how very wrong indeed. The ground roads were not her only roads or means of escape. She quickly threw back her coat folding it tightly and then stuffed it inot her shoulder bag with her camera, aranging the contents. Keeping her eye on the persuers below she didn't notice one of the cards Andrew insisted she carry around with her when investigating on his behalf. The card contained all of Andrew's detaisl such as his office and phone number. when everythnig was secure in her bag she climbed ot the top evne as the card fluttered down and came ot rest upoon the ground. Once upon the roof she spread her wings and took flight, glad it was dark and glad that people almost never looked up when going about thier daily bussiness. She was impressed by the fact the woman or rather women could keep up with her. Most people couldn't.

As the clones were scaling the fire escape ladder, heading up as fast as they could from the street to the rooftop, the original stayed down below, because she had seen something fluttering to the ground. Carefully searching, she found what she was looking for. A business card.
"Andrew Krendal, Private Investigator." Serena read, and then repeated aloud the phone number and the address on the card. Interesting. A clue? Could it be anything else?
A clone called over the edge of the building, where six of them had been searching the rooftop diligently. "Whoever it was is not here. We felt her patterns go off into the sky. Archelite, definitely. No doubt about it. Want us to Rejoin you?"
Serena nodded absently, and suddenly felt the Rejoining happen. It stopped her for a few moments, as her mind reassimilated all the various data, and her body felt the pain of the bruises and other scratches and stuff that had been gotten in the race. After it ended, though, Serena stood, alone now, holding the business card. Well....a night very well ruined. First, a Midas sighting and a vigilante attack on her way home. Then her picture taken by this...this private investigator person. This Andrew Krendal....no...they had been female emotional patterns. Definitely not Andrew. But anyways.... Serena felt more awake and alert than ever. It was going to be hell trying to get to sleep. She sighed deeply, and planned her little visit to this PI, as she made her way back to the street and started heading for home. It would be an interesting day tomorrow. No doubt about that. She'd probably call off work....
Silently, Serena ran home, not feeling tired at all.

Skylana landed on the roof of her apartment block, sighing she streached her wings out losening hte muscles after the flight and then folded them tightly against her back again as she retrieved her coat from her bag. Slipping it back on she entered the building through the roof door and head for her apartment. It was on the top floor so she didn't have to go far. Upon reaching her apartment she unlocked the door and slipped inside flicking the light switch on to iluminate the pitcdh dark room and locked the door behind her. Throwing her coat onot the coat rack she losned the cramped position her wings had and unshouldered her bag taking the camera out and headded for her dark room. She set the camera in there and decided to leave the film development for later.
Walking over to the couch she pulled it out inot her bed and tossed two blankets and a pillow down the bottom end and lay down stomach first. Skylana hadn't been able to lay on her back for two years, it wasn't much of an inconveniance just it irritated her now that she couldn't lay on her back. Grabbing the remote she turned on the tv in time to catch the aftermath of Midas' intervention.
