The Game “I was bored is all. So I decided to have some fun with them is all. “See, I first chose some humans. Humans that were all over the age of 15, and all had shown in life at least 2 of the key traits, which are: -Persistence -Intelligence -Problem Solving -Strength “And they all had to be… willing to take part.” ”And how did you get them to go along?” “I took something they cherished. You see, I didn’t just take off anyone from the streets. I took people that had things to lose. And for most of them that thing was their lives back home. Some were, of course, a little… harder to enlist. But I got them all in, and they were on their way.” “Through the Labyrinth?” “Yes. “I sat atop my chair, nay, my throne, overlooking the maze. Only I and the creatures inside knew of its pitfalls and passages. With a flick of my wrist I could have changed it any way I had wanted. I could have boxed them in and left them to die. But I didn’t want to kill them; Hell, I wanted them to win the maze, to get back home! It’s always more exciting when they make it all the way through. “In a pillar by the door each group that has ever gone into the maze had their own block. The blocks were very large, providing enough room to put their information. I’ll give an example of one of the player’s info. Name: Sean Larson Age: 19 Sex: Male Noticed Traits: Strength; Persistence Status: Failure That particular player did not make it through. Pity; I had great hope in him.”

All four were gathered and ready, and with such, a voice shot over the entire maze. Were anything living there, they could now be ready of outsiders. Of course, the Participants would have no idea. No idea, that is, until it was too late.
The voice did not come strongly, with a mellow pitch that did not instill Godly Terror, nor was it high enough to be made light of. The voice was, as was found over many hundreds of years, the perfect pitch to allow no guessing as to an appearance or motive, and was always calm. "Welcome to the 113th runners of the Labyrinth. I hope you four enjoy yourselves, for from this point on you will be in a very large game. I will give you two directions. One: Make it across the maze to my castle. Your destination can be seen very well form where you're standing: Straight across from you. But remember: in the maze you won't be able to see anything but the sun, if that. Two: TRY and stay together. I want you guys to make it at LEAST half way to the end before turning on each other."
The golden gates that were ahead of the group, encrusted with emeralds, rubies and safaris opened outward from the maze, revealing an open room; probably the only one in the whole Labyrinth. It opened slowly and, after the four were in, closed in a blink without making a sound. No movement was even seen of the door. The inner side was slick, cold, and mirrored. It was like half the gate was crystal, smooth and unbreaking.
In the small room there were four creatures. One looked like a Minotaur, only it was red, with fire for eyes and deep black hair. Above him was the symbol of Anarchy. The beast snorted at the new meat, restraining itself at it's master's command. Another was something that, for a second, looked similar. Only this one was more like a goat. He was much shorter, and green with brown fur. It stood on two hoofed legs, with two human-like arms. One short horn and one broken horn adorned the satyr's head, complimenting the mischievous look the creature had quite nicely. Above him was the symbol of Riddles: the Question Mark. It burned a deep green, and seemed to guarantee a million little games. The third, a frail-looking nymph-like creature, looked disgusted by the satyr, but still she was very temping to the humans. She was a light purple color, and had a silver glow around her. Nothing about her seemed evil as she winked to Alex. Through her very thin layer of clothing, which was nothing more than a lace top and, basically, a belt, both the color of a well-nurtured tree's leaves, could be seen a dagger and hints of other weapons. Where they could be hidden was a mystery in itself. Above her was a lush heart that seemed to emit an intoxicating aroma. She giggled and gave another wink at Alex, noticing his reaction to her first gesture. And finally there was a creature that looked like Death itself. This otherworldly beast was covered completely in a tattered hood and cloak. It swept against the ground, and even when it came up just a little, no feet could be seen. The thing seemed to just float there on it's own mystery and malice, the only feature visible being it's cold eyes, like pin-point stars in the night sky of the country. They shone bright silver that would flash at each newcomer for just a second, always moving; always watching. Above it was the symbol for Void: a circle with a crosshair overlapping it, the points coming over the circle itself.
And in the middle of their semi-circle came what looked to be a human; a young boy, maybe seven years old. He seemed to walk out of the air itself, slowly coming in to focus as he walked, yet did not advance. With a smile he nodded to all the players of the deathly game, and began. "Welcome to the Labyrinth everyone. Your task, as you know, is to make it to the end so that you can get back to your lives on Earth. Hopefully this experience will be challenging, but a good learning experience for all of you. Hopefully you'll all take a good lesson about your own humanity from this adventure. Otherwise, it still makes a great bar story, don't you think?" With a laugh, the child looked to the four, and noticing a lack of any substantial reaction, he continued. "You will face the trials before you, one by one, until you end at the Gate to Majestic. Majestic, incase any of you are wondering, is His ideal world. He created it to get away from the pains of the normal plain. Majestic is better than even Heaven; trust me. And from there it's just a brisk walk to the castle doors, where you will be showered with praise for being one of the few groups to complete the challenge. At which point you will, of course, be returned. At times it will be hard. You'll have to scavenge for whatever you may need: Food; water; weapons, should you find yourself in that situation. It's all here, but you have to look. Only in the center is there an oasis." The child looked to the four Gatekeepers. They were masters of their own realms. First was Anarchy. With a nod to them all they faded away in to the air, giving their farewells to the newcomers. The Minotaur gave a taunting snort, and faded in smoke; the last to go.
"And remember: not everyone in the maze is against you. It may help to talk with those you encounter. And be sure to be civilized. We don't tolerate rudeness here in the Labyrinth." And with that there was a mighty blast of green smoke. Once the haze dissipated, a single door, adorned with the burning Anarchy Symbol, was left before the adventurers.
One choice: Forward.

"I suppose 'rude' isn't incorporated with being dragged out of your house, and thrown within a maze of death," Alex remarked, running a hand through his longish black hair. He sighed, and offered a lopsided grin to his companions. "Well, no use crying over spilt milk. Hiya guys," He pointed to himself, winking at Lea, "My name is Alex. Alex Taylor. Figured we'd need to be introduced before running around with our heads cut off like chickens in a hay stack..." Massaging the back of his neck, he thought about that for a moment, and shrugged. "...or whatever that saying is."

Jake looked around curiously, more than a little confused. What was he doing here with a bunch of kids? Why was he here in the first place? He couldn't seem to remember anything before yesterday. He remembered going to his job, working as a customer service rep for the local phone service, and spending the day in tedious boredom. And then, suddenly, his memory skipped to here, to being with these four young people, standing in front of these gates. How had he gotten there? Who had brought him? Why was this happening?
Jake looked around again in wonderment, then frowned. "The saying is running around like chickens with their heads cut off. And I'm Jake Townsend. Do...do any of you know why we're here? I can't seem to remember anything beyond yesterday..."

"The story I got was, some God, or something, wants to have some fun, and so, took whatever is precious to us; our lives, family, friends..." He frowned, thinking about his sister. "...and if we don't play along, we are killed. Of course, nothing to guarantee we'll even make it past Anarchy, whatever that is." Alex' dump into the Labyrinth had been a little more graceful. He was contacted through MSN by a random person all of a sudden, and told of his situation. He did not believe it at first; hell, it was pretty farfetch'd. But then, they sealed the deal with, if Alex did not go, everything in his heart would be destroyed, and if he did go, and by some chance, make it through, all he knew would be spared. And as a sweet bonus, his sister would be cured...
He would have time to spend with her, and not... his profession. He had to make it with this group of 'chosen'. There was no question.

As Alex spoke, a flash ran through Jake's head. It hit him, like the adab of demanding memory. It was a simple flash, but full of nuance and meaning. And it scared Jake to the bone.
He saw his house. And his house was empty, but for himself and a figure standing in the doorway. In the memory, he knew it was supposed to be full. His wife, and his two daughters and his son, they were all supposed to be home when he got home from work. But they were gone, all gone. Homework was left out on the counter, the table was set for dinner, there was even the smell of burning rice from the kitchen, as if a pot was left on. But there was nobody there. And this figure stood in the doorway, dark and faceless, and it was about to speak to him.
That was all he could remember. As the memory hit him, he felt a shocking pain in his head, a hammer-like slam into his skull. He put his hand to his forehead and staggered, shocked and stunned, and waited for it to go away. As it did, slowly at first, he spoke to the others.
"Yes...god damn it! Fuck that hurts....yes, I remember...something. Jenny, gone, the kids...a figure in the doorway...Ahh God that hurts!...something...happened. I can't remember."
As the pain finally faded away into nothing, he looked at the three around him, and frowned. He knew that it was something he should remember, but he was sure he was suppressing it, he was sure he didn't WANT to remember it. That would explain the pain, and the flash. It was being repressed.
Cautiously, he stepped forward, and touched the door to the Labyrinth, the one that had the floating Anarchy symbol above it. Slowly, as if on command, the door opened a crack, moving slightly inwards at his touch. He peeked around the edge of it, but could see nothing of what was beyond it. Turning back to the others, he shook his head and sighed.
"I guess...I guess we have no choice but to go forward, huh? What do you all say? We've got no time to waste, or so I expect."

Ignoring the wink from the kid, Alex, Lea took to scanning her surroundings, filing everything away in her brain. Who knew? It could come in handy later. Finally she turned to the group, a little disheartened at being the only girl. I hope the boys don't get lonely... With a shake of her head, auburn curls swirling around her face, she managed a slight smile, nodding to Jake. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be." Her voice friendly, but strong, and sure of itself. She twirled a finger in her red-brown curls, a habbit she got when thinking. "I'm Lea, Lea Hartman."
With a tug to her black gym shorts, Lea adjusted her clothes, the shorts were a little small to allow maximum manueverability. She wore a plain tank top, the same bright green as her eyes. Lea almost wished she had a sweater or something to keep her warm at night, but she knew it would only get in her way. Matching black knee-high socks with two green stripes adorned her calves, providing a little more warmth. Plain white running shoes were on her feet. This was Lea's running outfit, provided by her school to all members of the track team. Lea had a runners body, her legs were shapely from years of running, her arms thin and not too muscular. Despite being out in the sun running alot, Lea was not tan. She had a paler complexion, but it seemed to fit with her curly auburn locks, and bright eyes. Long eyelashes, pouty lips and a small button nose balanced out her face with one thing unsymetrical. A single freckle under her left eye.
The teen weighed about 120 pounds, skinny, but not annorexic, with B cup breasts and a flat stomach. She spent most her time either running or reading, both sending her into different worlds, away from the normalacy of every day life. She was scared at her predicament, yes, but more than that, she was anxious, excited. This was a new world! She finally escaped... but at the cost of something very precious to her....
"Well then, I say we get a move on." Lea nodded decisively and walked ahead of the group to the door. Here goes everything... Lea thought, and stepped through the door.

There was darkness, then blue flame, quickly replaced with all-consuming flood, then blizzard, soon replaced once again with blood and decay; green and rebirth. Every possible element and feeling passed through, over, under and around the four goers of the maze. It roared above thought and logic, passed comprehension. The noise was defining: the sounds of everything that ever existed all at once and then… Silence. An abyss of white covered everyone, their bodies floating in blinding nothingness. Suspended there in the ends of time, or maybe the beginnings, the runners had only enough time to make one quick thought: What the fuck? And then they were dropped back in to the maze, the door they’d just passed through behind them, melting in to brick and becoming simply one large panel with the anarchy sign on it. A voice boomed, seeming brutish and yet clever. “Such is the way of the Labyrinth. Forever changing, forever entrapping. These ways, these walls were used on my people once, and now it is my weapon to command against anyone who seeks passage to the Lord’s Throne.” The last two words echoed throughout the hall the four had found themselves in, and that was it. Once again the four found themselves with one direction to travel: Forward. But before they decided to move out they all took note of the large tile in the middle of the floor in front of them, black as the night and etched with blood red letters, it read: Through the fire, ice, wind and water Hate and love should never falter. Emotions are what keep you sane In this most chaotic plain. And if distracted like a fool In the Labyrinth you’ll never rule. Now get ready to have some fun For your journey has just begun. Enter Anarchy.

Alex revealed a switch out of his pocket, and for no apparent reason, slit his throat. He was free now. With no worry. No obligation, or love, to save his sister.

(OOC: Ummm...yeah. I don't know, is this RP even going to keep going? I mean, we only have 3 people now, and it doesn't seem like anyone was really posting that much before Lore's death. So what's up?)
