Ok, ok. I know things have been a little dead lately, and that it's been quiet. People don't feel like posting, and I respect that. Hell, I know exactly how it feels. However, I had what I assume is a relatively new idea, so I figured I would bring it up with the world. As I said, I'm assuming this is a novel idea...maybe it's been done before, but just not around me.
Ok, so I have a story I've been writing. I'm on page 13. It's been 2 years. LMAO I know, I'm a huge slacker. My problem is, I come up with an idea, but I can't see it through. My vision loses focus, and my attention wanes. It's also NOT the best idea for a story...in fact it's kinda schlocky, a bit derivative, and not very good. But I've got feelings for it, sentimental reasons for writing, stuff like that.
So here's my idea. I post the entire 13 pages in the forum in a series of long posts. You guys all read it. Then...you help me continue it. It's like an anti-RP. Instead of creating roles and writing a story, we're using already created characters and writing a continuation. My first thirteen pages will be like a template...you see how my characters interact in those first few pages, you see what they're like, you see how they think. And then you help me continue.
Now obviously there are fallbacks to this plan. First and foremost, it's a hell of a lot of reading. So if you guys aren't up for a lot of reading, just tell me to forget about it. Also, it'd take a hell of a lot of good writing. I'm talking Middy-sized posts (you know I love you Vedette! ). So if you're not up to writing big posts, then also tell me to forget it. And, of course, there's the problem of character interest. Maybe you won't like my characters (even though they seem pretty well-rounded and fun to me), maybe you won't like some of the ideas, maybe you won't like how other people turn the plot. All of these things could make you want to just forget this idea.
So there's your choice. Do we try this, or do we just leave me to write it by my lonesome, meaning it will never EVER get done? LOL It's completely up to you all. I won't even post it unless I get at least 3 positive affirmations. Ok, so there's the idea...think on it maybe.
