Just a nice little news flash. I got a message when I logged in today informing me of some a feature being added to ProBoards. They asked me to choose a category for Purviews to fit into. The list was small, vague, and disappointing considering it didn't have any "writing" option, but I ended up choosing "Entertainment," although "Art and Culture" still tempts me. Everything else is way off.
Anyway, I thought I'd copy and paste part of the message to let you all know of the new feature coming soon to ProBoards that might bring in some more potential members.
"Why are we asking you to select a category for your forum?
There are a couple reasons, which are:
* We plan to use these categories as part of our upcoming Forum Directory service where we will allow your forum to be listed in a directory on the ProBoards.com site. Don't worry -- if you don't want to be listed in the forum directory, you won't have to. It will be entirely opt-in when it launches. Once it does launch, it will be a great way for new people to find your message board.
* This category will use this information to better target relevant advertising to your forum. This will not add any new advertising to your forum.
Please note that in the future when we launch our Forum Directory you will have the option to select a more precise sub-category for your forum that will be more specific to your board's interest."
That last part pleases me. I do hope someone in there is smart enough to realize that many people use ProBoards to RP and to add "Creative Writing" or "Role Playing" as a sub-category.
