The door opened for Dot and Anya stopped all movement in the shower. gracefully hopped out and turned off the shower, water dripping to the floor from her perfect body. She grabbed a towel and hastily wrapped it around herself and made for the door. She slowly opened it a crack to look out - to her suprise, it almost sounded as if children were in the house. She cracked a smile and went prone near the handrail of the second floor, peeing down to the first.
And then she saw them. The first of the Hawks had made it here in one piece. Now, if only they didn't bring with them any unwanted attention... Anya smiled to herself, Not likely... Making sure she had not been seen, she rose and went back into the room with the clothes laid out in it and again entered the bathroom. The door closed silently, and her towel found the countertop as the water turned on once again. She ran her hands through her hair, enjoying the hot water against her skin, and looked at a bottle of shampoo. After reading the directions on the items in the shower, she had gotten the hang of it. Anya hoped to herself that she wouldn't frighten the hawks should they discover her... ...but part of her hoped that she did. She grinned and put the shampoo in her auburn hair...

Fletch moved into the house with far less enthusiasm, but much more curiosity, than the delighted Dot. He watched with breathless anticipation as she activated the door lock, and moved around the house with her unceasingly, admiring everything. And every time the curious, innocent young Hawk stopped to touch something, to feel its texture or see how heavy it was, he was pulled along to another room by the rambunctious young Hawk. They moved around the large but elegant house, taking in every sight, every smell, everything possible. But then, in her hurry to see her bedroom, Dot left the ever-inquisitive Fletch to his own devices.
Cautiously, he stepped into the hallway by the bedrooms, and moved with a quiet grace that belied the tremendousness of his wings. Even when tucked back, they seemed unwieldy on the ground. He moved down the hallway, ignoring the other Hawks crowding around and around, looking in every door, until he reached where he was going. There was a door, and behind that door there was the loud sound of running water. He listened curiously for a moment or two, wondering what the sound was. But when he went to open the door, he found it locked. With a sad frown of disappointment, he left the sound of running water (And the cat-creature Anya, though he did not know it) and instead walked back out into the main sitting area.
From there, it was easy. He explored every nook and cranny of the room, and found it much to his liking. Most of the things he could see he had no idea what they were, or what their purpose was, or how to use them. The rectangular things on the wall, the strangely comfortable yet dangerously soft cushions, the way the windows had plastic...things on them, instead of metal bars. It was just...all so fascinating. He explored for a long while, his attention too short to focus on one thing for very long, as there were too many new things to think about. He could focus, that was something Jeb had had him practice. He could sit and examine a chair for hours, silently pondering angles and textures, wondering about wood grain and how they made it. But here and now, there was just too much, he needed to explore, to look around, to see...everything.
Slowly, he made his way out into the enclosed garden, and the wonders there caused him to gasp out loud. Such greenery! He had seen trees and grass before, that was common, and he had seen a lot of it in the flight over here. But the flowers! He had never seen so many shades of the color blue before! And purple and pink and red and gold and everything he could imagine, and some colors he couldn't even name! There were trees of such surprising beauty that he could not comprehend them all at once, and bushes and hanging plants that made the space look absolutely stunning. It was a paradise to young Fletch, and he walked around the garden, exploring with his keen eyes and his numbed but still functional sense of touch.
That was when he noticed something. Keen, Hawklike eyes, coupled with the extraordinary capacity to observe, gave him an advantage. Moving a few steps forward, he looked very very carefully at the leaves of a nearby tree. Something...was not right. The leaves weren't shaped correctly, the shading was off by about an inch and a half in some places, and the entire thing was long, almost shaped like....
Quietly, Fletch spoke. His voice was calm and quiet, if a little immature, considering his age. "Hello? Who's that? I can see you up there, in the trees. Would you like to come down? I'd like to ask some questions." He was obviously speaking to the very skittish, very small shape of a reptilian creature crouched in the tree above him, blending in almost completely with its surroundings. He spoke very soothingly, in his calmest and most quiet tone, and yet he could see that the poor thing was shaking like the leaves it was in, and worried sick. He didn't take another step closer, but made gentle movements with his hands, to coax the creature down from the tree....
(OOC: Your turn, Nish. You can take some control of Fletch if you want. Just make sure he's innocent, curious, and completely unthreatening.)

Shift had stayed in her tree watching as one of the hawks entered the terarium. She quivered slightly as she watched him wander about. Despite her fear she could see this one liked the plants, especialy the flowers, but she was still wary. then to her horror he looked up and straight at her, his gaze focused and Shift knew ge'd seen her. she stayed perfectly still as hte hawk moved to the base of her tree. Quivering Shift stayed where she was wathcing him with wide eyes as he spoke, so gently inviting her down. He wasn't a wolf but Shift couldn't be sure he wouldn't hurt her. He was much bigger then her and there were others.... The hawk continued to coax Shift and made no outward movment to get any closer to her tree. Shift relaxed a little but stil couldn't help but quiver. "G-go away!" she stuttered climbing a little higher into the tree. "L-leave me al-alone..." Still the hawk refused ot move, Shift stayed where she was and watched him warily. How long they stayed there she wasn't sure but eventualy her nerves calmed and she slid down the tree a little until she was on a branch just above him. "Your.... Your n-not going t-to try and h-hurt me are you?" she asked watching as the hawk shook his head.
He said he wouldn't but then again the wolves had said somethnig of the same and still did. She had little faith in the words of people, only Jeb was kind ot her, only Jeb told her the truth.... but this hawk... he didn't appear threatening, not like the wolves with thier cold eyes and hollow smiles. Gingerly she slipped down the tree her skin changing back to its nutral molted appearance her tail still coiled about the trunk as if for support. Shift could feel ehr body trembaling iwth fear, no doubt she was shaking all over, but she'd have to come down sometime and if this hawk was liek the wolves. He'd hit and torment her for a little while before being bored and leave her alone. then she could hide again. "W-what do you w-want?"

Snap looked to Fang as he ran next to her, and pointed towards the looming mountains in the distance with her muzzle as she ran along until a new scent came to her..now new two scents. Two new wolves were following this pack as they ran spread out searching, ever hunting for the hawks. But the first to approach was the new commander, their new leader..and it was a small girl. Snap held back a giggle, but then frowned as the prideful Fang tried to take over tried to show he was better everyone. How egotistical. She rolled her eyes, thinking; typical males.. before turning examining the new girls eyes investigating her, before she snorted. She could have more control if a male was the leader, could twist him with invites to sexual delights- But with a female, well females naturally just thought more along the same line and communicated and agreed together. Snap gave Twitch a friendly welcome, eyes turning to mountains as her pace picked up.

(OOC: Nishy, I'm just taking mild control of your character just to move the story along. If you don't like any of it, just tell me and I'll change it, ok? I don't know when you're going to post again due to your tests, but hopefully it'll be soon)
"Your.... Your n-not going t-to try and h-hurt me are you?"
Fletch very calmly, very slowly shook his head. "No little one. I would do nothing to hurt you." He spoke in his most calming voice, and she was lulled by it. He stood there, peering at her, wondering what she was and how she had gotten there. Obviously, she was one of the experiments from the labs. She had a very strange look about her, and since Fletch had seen a reptile only once through the bars of his cage, he assumed she was something like that. She looked tiny, though, and completely unthreatening. However, she shook like a leaf in the wind, she was so nervous, and he could tell that she would not come down easily. But he did not give up. Continuing to coax her down, he finally got her to step out of the tree. As she stood on the ground, her tail curled around the trunk of the tree, he looked at her very closely. Then she said,
"W-what do you w-want?"
Fletch smiled, and stood quietly for a moment, thinking how best to proceed. She seemed less nervous now, more resigned, as if she expected something bad to happen and yet accepted that it must. He would prove her wrong, of course.
"Hi. My name is Fletch. You must be another experiment from the labs, right? Did Jeb bring you here? I...I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. I just...you intrigue me. You're...different. Special. I want to know more about you. What are you? What do you do? Why are you hiding here?"
He knew it was too many questions to ask at once. But he was just so curious! He had to know why she was here, and what was wrong with her. He had to know so much about her. She interested him more than any of his fellow Hawks! She was different, unique, and there was something about her that made her interesting. And he was so curious to know more about her, to know her history, and her thoughts.
"I...I...I'm S-S-Shift." she finally stuttered, still nervous beyond belief. "J-J-Jeb s-sent me h-h-here. Are y-y-y-you s-sure you're n-not gonn-n-na h-h-hurt me?"
Fletch smiled again, and in his most calming said quietly. "No, little one. I won't hurt you, I promise. Why would I want to do that?"
"W-W-W-Wolves...they h-hurt me. They h-h-hurt me a lot. Makes me s-s-scared. I hide."
Fletch frowned now in thought. He had heard rumors of the Wolves, knew them to be vicious, bloodthirsty, and cruel. He had never known a Wolf, being confined only with the other Hawks, but he had heard of them, and knew they were bad news.
"Well, I'm not a Wolf, little Shift. I'm a Hawk. And we Hawks don't hurt other creatures. It's not right. Come here, sit down with me." Quietly, he sat down on the floor, crossing his legs indian-style. And he waited for the reptilian Shift to join him, waiting to see if she would be brave enough to, comfortable enough to step away from the safety of the tree and join him on the ground. His wings folded neatly into the indentations in his back, making him appear almost human, and he sat quietly, wating for her.

Shift stood by the tree and figited nervously, Fletch realy didn't seem to want ot hurt her. Most wolves would have given up at this point and proceeded to hit her. She smiled faintly and unoiled her tail creeping slowly over ot where the hawk sat and squatted on the ground just out of arms reach. "I-i came here w-when Jeb helped m-me ge-get away.... I li-live here in the T-tararium...." she watched the hawk Fletch warily but gradualy she relaxed a little more in his presense, believing a little more that he meant no harm as time wore on.

"You live here, in the Terrarium? For how long? Does Jeb visit you sometimes? Where is Jeb? Will he be here soon?"
Fletch asked the little creature questions upon questions, and she very skittishly, very nervously answered them. One at a time, they got through all of the curious young Hawk's questions, and she even began to venture to ask questions herself, asking him about being a Hawk, and about flying, and about Jeb and his lessons with the Hawks. The chatted amiably for what seemed like a long time, but was probably only 10 minutes or so, and by the end, they were infinitely more comfortable with each other. Shift had even started to lose her stutter around him, and once, just once, he caught the little girl smiling at him. And Fletch, some of his curiosity sated, found Shift to be surprisingly good company. She was smart, smarter than she let on, and knew a lot about things that Fletch hadn't even been taught yet. But she was so nervous! Even at her most comfortable, she was still jittery and tense, her muscles contracted and her body looking like she was ready to flee. Fletch did his best to make her see that he wouldn't hurt her, didn't want to and doubted he even could if he DID want to, but she still would not relax completely.
Finally, after their long talk started to turn into meaningless jibber-jabber and useless bits of information, Fletch suddenly had an idea.
"Hey...would you like to meet the others? They're in the house, somewhere, and I'm sure they'd love to see you! Come on, I promise they'll be nice!" He stood up and offered his hand to the little creature, hoping she would take it and let him lead her into the other rooms.
Meanwhile, the other Hawks had been busy around the house. Some of them, like Dot, had delighted in finding their bedrooms, each suited to his or her own needs and likes. Some were looking through the refrigerator and the pantries in the kitchen, smelling all of the food and wondering what was good to eat and what wasn't, but for the most part not caring which was which. And one or two had even made it to the living room, where they sat down on the comfortable chairs and chatted with each other in excited tones. They found the remote control for the TV, and of course started playing with it. Before they knew it, they were surprisedly watching the news on channel 4, minds befuddled at all the new words and pictures, and wondering how the magic that controlled the "talking box" really worked. And of course, nobody knew how to change the channel. And so the Hawks were sitting around, all happy, all waiting for Jeb to come and get them going on the next step of their adventure. And, of course...they were all free.

shift frowned at the mention of the others. Fletch had been very nice ot her, nicer then anyone except Jeb, she liked the hawk and didn't want ot dissapoint him, and yet. Her pats had taught her to fear others. it was a delema to her, to go and risk herself or stay and possibly dissapoint the hawk. Eventualy she decided and tentivly took Fletch's hand. Her tail instinctivly coiled around the closest thing which in this case was Fletch's leg. She looked up at the Hawk nervously but managed a faint smile. She'd eventualy have ot meet them anyway, she might as well start now.

As the oldest of the Hawks, Dot took somewhat of an authority over them. Most of them respected her, and listened to what she had to say. After a good cry in the doorway of her room, which she still didn't have the guts to enter just yet, she went back down the stairs to see what the others were up to. They were enthralled with a box, showing them pictures and telling them about things in the real world. Dot watched for a few minutes, but then realized she would never be like those people... she was always going to be different.
With a tired sigh, she wandered aimlessly around the house, and eventually heard a noise coming from outside. Curious, Dot made her way to the sound, and ran into Fletch, holding the hand of a small creature who looked ready to have a heart attack from fear.
"Er, hello.." Dot said in a friendly, but confused manner. "Where'd you find this little one?" She asked Fletch, smiling slightly, trying not to appear scary... Though Dot was bewildered at how she could ever look threatening... except maybe when she was flying...
----------------------------------
All was going as Twitch expected. The Wolves were hot on the trail, following a scent... A scent which Twitch knew would lead to a dead end. A special feature built into the Hawks... their scent was almost identical to that of a real hawk. Twitch smirked, knowing that it would take the Wolves a long while to pick out the real scent of the Hawks. In the meantime, Twitch had buisness with a certain escaped Wolf... One whom could ruin the plan.
He was no doubt following the other Wolves, letting them do all the work. That simply would not fly. Twitch circled around him, and came up from behind, her eyes glowing with excitement and mischief. "What do we have here? A lone wolf?" she spoke to him, coming along to his side. She smirked, keeping up with his pace. "You are a threat to the plan... we simply cannot have that." Twitch let the wolf react, she would have plenty of time, the Wolves were fresh on a false trail, and the Hawks weren't going anywhere without their precious Jeb, that left her with all day to deal with this... minor threat.

Shift ducked behind Fletch the moment another hawk came into sight her skin changed in reaction to her emotional state causing her skin to match the color of the hawk she hid behind. Shift trembled like a leaf behind Fletch and peeked out from behind his legs at the female. she said hellow but Shift found she couldn't reply, the female hawk had appeared os suddenly.

Fang continued to charge, his mind fuming about everything that was going on: The hawk's escape, the woman trying to take over, the humans who let her, and the useless wolf behind him. Well, she wasn't totally useless. He smiled, just as he saw something out of the corner of his eye.
A massive, wing of a Hawk came sharply into view, off in another direction from thatthey were running. This wing was off in the mountains, where as he was running to the plains. The wings were that of the normal Hawk from the kennal, so he knew that they had been going in the wrong direction. "Snap, you come this way with me, I know that I just saw a Hawk, and it's in the mountains. Now let's go!" It was a direct order, and it was not to be disobayed or questioned. Fang was still the top dog, and would prove it.
He was off on the trail to the new Hawk, making for the mountains, laughing at what the new girl would say when she got there after him. Hell, the new leader girl was probobly going off to try and deal with the escapee wolf, whom Fang could not possibly know about, but still did, somehow. He just knew she would be off with him, trying to take him down and stop him from what he must have been doing, which was, of course, to tamper with them. Shw would have been well behind them, then. Because obviously this renegade was simply following the other wolves. Fang laughed at the thought of what she would say when he cought the Hawks and she was nowhere near them at the time. She would be out like the garbage one puts on the street every Sunday.

"Shift...come on Shift," said Fletch softly, as the little reptilian girl disappeared behind his back. He gave Dot a look that said hold on just one minute and turned around. Shift was crouched down behind him, tail wrapped around his leg, shaking and trembling all over and holding his hand in her own with white-knuckled intensity. Fletch looked down at her, a look of compassion and understanding in his eyes. She was very very shy. Painfully so. She must have been so mistreated by the Wolves growing up that she feared everyone, even those that posed no threat to her. She needed a friend, someone to teach her that not everyone was bad and abusive, that there were good people in the world. And she needed someone to teach her some courage, to show her how to be strong enough to resist. She definitely needed a friend.
Leaning down, Fletch spoke softly to her, his voice a mere whisper so as not to frighten her anymore.
"Shift...this is Dot. She's one of the oldest Hawks, and kind of our leader. Don't be afraid, ok? I swear to you she's a good girl, and she won't hurt you. I know, I know, you were surprised when she entered. Just shush, ok? Shhhh.... It's gonna be alright. She won't hurt you, I swear. Come on now, come on..."
He was a little mystified that she had changed color to look just like him, wondering how she had done that, and what other powers she may possess. But he continue to speak softly and coaxingly to the little reptilian girl, his voice calming and quieting. After a few moments, the shaking began to die down, and she began to trust Fletch a little more. She gulped nervously a few times, still shaking but noticeably less so, and tried to nod to him. Ok...she would see Dot.
Fletch, suddenly inspired, softly wrapped his arms around her and gave her a soft hug. Then, slowly, he stepped to the side, his arm still protectively around her shoulder, and faced Dot.
"Dot...this is Shift. She's one of Jeb's friends. He brought her here to live. She lives here, in the Terrarium. Shift, this is Dot. Our leader." And then, to Dot, but obviously being overheard by Shift, "She's a little shy, be careful what you do, ok?"

Shift smiled weakly at Dot, calming her racing heart, had she hair Shift knew she’d be losing it from stress. She hated being afraid all the time but it couldn’t be helped. Looking up at Dot Shift reguarded the hawk with a guarded expression she was different from Fletch and the same all at once. If they were all as energetic and excitable at this one though Shift felt it would be better to meet them all one at a time.
Shift sighed and felt a faint tingle pass over her skin, that sensation normaly signified she was changing pigment again. When it passed she looked up at Dot again comforted by Fletch’s arm. “J-jeb helped m-me ge-get here a m-month be-be-before…” she fidgeted nervously not really sure what to do with herself…. “I…. I’m going b-back…” She slipped out from under fletches arm her skin taking on a green hue as she disappeared back into the trees A few branches shifted amongst the foliage as she climbed up but she remained invisible. The thought of meeting so many was just too much. Meeting Dot and Fletch had strained her more then an average day. She’d have to work on it a little at a time.

He sighed. He was not in the mood to fuck around. He had a job to do, and was hoping they would just think he was lagging. But how much did this Wolf know? Did she know what he was? Did she know he was an escapee? Did she know he was ordered to kill the Hawks by the girl?
On the other hand, if she DID know what he was up too, he would have to kill her. Because nobody BUT her would know of this from the, who Omega dubbed, "Big Bad Dogs".
Omega looked her in the eye as he picked up his pace, eyes challenging her to a race, a race of the Old versus the New. Then he threw his head, motioning to the plateau in the distance. He wanted to see if she could maneuver through the approaching obstacles before he wasted his time on her.

The stream of steamy water stopped and the lovely catgirl grabbed her towel once more. She dried off and let her hair do as it would - currently a spiked out just-dried affair, and donned the small tanktop and cutoff demin shorts. Opening the door casually, she walked out of the room and started down the stairs, at the bottom of which Dot and Fletch were standing. "Watch out, chickadees," she announced as she decended the stairway, "there's a fox in the henhouse! Or a cat, is it may be," she finished in a normal tone to the two. "It's about time you guys started showing up. Jeb told me that you'd be coming - afterall, I'm the initial reason you guys got out."
Jeb had left Anya's lab unlocked, and after a short time, the girl made her break for it, setting off all of the auxillary alarms along the way as not to get herself caught, but to scramble the lab. The dip in overall security made it possible for the Hawks to get away. "Funny how a favor to a friend can end up helping the one doing it. That Jeb guy is a clever character," she laughed. Then, offering her hand for a firm and friendly shake to the two Hawks, she introduced herself, "My name is Anya." Maybe the other scientist's name would ring a bell with the Hawks as well...? Perhaps not...
