Katie had to bite her tongue to keep the sarcasm from eeking out. Instead, all she did was mutter "Fucking bitch" low and under her breath. She knew that she was vulnerable right now, because with nobody to watch over her she was incredibly weak and untrained. Anything could happen, and she would be without a way to get food, water, anything. Sure, she could probably pull an "innocent baby" trick on some people, if she could find any. But until then, she'd have to play this one a little cooler. The Japanese bitch had some fire in her engines, and she didn't want to lose her meal ticket before she even got it. So, with an evil stare, she began to follow the girl.
The other girl moved much faster than she could, with her longer legs and her more toned muscles, and Katie had to jog a little to keep up. Her little body finally reached Jade's as she stepped towards the gas station. Suddenly, Katie took the woman's arm and turned her around, glaring her right in the eye. Surprisingly, Katie's grip was strong on the woman's arm, and somehow she had had the strength to turn the much older girl around. Staring up into the almond-shaped eyes, Katie spoke.
"Listen. I may just be the smartest person left alive in this pathetic city. You need me. But I'm...little. I need you. So...let's settle it this way, ok? I follow you, you help me, I help you, we maintain a truce. Got it?" She gave the woman a skeptical glare, and shook her head. "It's illogical for two of the remaining people in this city to have a constant superiority struggle. So let's just...try to keep it civil. Ok?"
With that, she let go of Jade's arm, and gave her a good, solid glare. Then, she sighed, and began walking towards the gas station again. She was feeling stronger, a bit more energetic, which was odd, because she wasn't used to such strenuous physical activity. As she walked a couple steps further, she suddenly turned her head over her shoulder and spoke.
"By the way, my name is ST-003. But everyone calls me Katie."

(OOC: Rushed but I got a week worth of school work due tomorrow…that I have yet to start <.< So I might as well at the very least get this out the way ) Vision flooded in darkness, the faintest sound of a rustling wind could be heard in the background. Misty’s entire body was numb; the world constantly spinning as she lay buried beneath debris and countless dominatrix outfits. She grinded her teeth, awoken by a stream of chilled water lapping up to her bare feet, some fingers in an awkward position. She shifted in position, instantly regretting the motion as the stale water found a path to her cheek, stinging day old wounds and abrasions. The repugnant scent of the water drifted into her nostrils, Misty gagging on the scent of the sugar sweet shit water. She twisted up her face, fingers searching the area, not a smooth piece of floor able to be felt. Fuck me…this isn’t a good sign. Misty tightly closed her eyes, flipping onto her back. With a heavy sigh, and against her better judgment, she finally opened her eyes. The room was no longer a room as far as the prostitute could tell. The ceiling lay around her, the rustling of the wind coming from the cracks in the one remaining cement wall of the dressing room. Broken mirrors adorned the area, various body parts visible poking through rocks and torn mahogany doors. Porcelain toilets long having spewed their contents stood water stained in their respective corners of the decimated bordello, Misty understanding one contributor to the rancid smell plaguing the area. The other contributors were the dead surrounding her, Misty catching the very dead beautiful green eyes of a former co-worker. Knocking the leather whips and clothing off her bruised and scratched form, Misty shakily got to her feet. Vertigo struck, Misty fighting off the wave of nausea to the best of her ability. Guess I’m in hell…Constantine style. Sorta expected the hellfire and brimstone deal but this ain’t too bad…not as windy either. Shaking away her first hypothesis, she scanned her body, analyzing the damage. Her back had taken the blunt of the damage, white material torn and bloody from her healing scars. The front of her midriff top was permanently light brown, sewer water staining the material. Her hair was slightly messy from what she could tell, her scalp having been bleeding a few hours…days earlier. Other than that, from what she could tell, she seemed in decent condition. “That’s some shit…” She shrugged, eyes watching the ground. Misty cautiously tiptoed to a blonde lock of hair poking through the rubble, a perfectly manicured hand poking through. Swinging her hands on her hips, Misty glowered down to the baby pink hand. “Addicted eh? My ‘addiction’ got me through the god damn apocalypse…” She trailed off, wondering if her second guess was more accurate. Stooping down, Misty summoned up the little strength inside her being. She pulled a rock from off the small pile, tossing it aside, repeating the movement with the smaller portions of the crumbled ceiling. All the while, she spoke through the monotonously tiring process. “…I always hated that little goody two shoes talk of yours. As if I was the only one with problems, I was the only one that took an occasional hit. You couldn’t leave me the fuck be and now look at you,” With effort, Misty pushed aside the last remaining flat slab of concrete with her shoulder. She grunted out her words. “Buried under a shit load of rock…and me of all people having to bail your ass out,” Misty exhaled, managing to move the concrete completely off her blonde associate Candy. The blonde prostitute didn’t seem to battered, her condition looking better than others. Her complexion was a little off, the only way Misty able to tell the blonde was still alive being the lightest of breathes escaping her, blood still circulating through the woman’s system. Satisfied at her work, Misty got back to her feet. She nudged Candy in the side with her big toe. “You’ve been through worse than this hun…wake up,” She poked the woman in the ribs, taking the time to finally look at her left hand. Her middle finger was bent back, her pinky in the same oblong direction. Misty grimaced, snapping them back in place, the loud cracking sounds making the blonde’s lids flicker. Noticing another sign of life, Misty nudged the woman harder, eyes tearing up from the pain in her fingers. A few minutes into the process, Misty lost all patience, delivering a swift kick into the woman’s gut. Candy coughed horribly to the ground, a mixture of dust and saliva expelling from her throat. She craned her neck, cracking the bones, cheeks red in her recovery. She watched the floor half asleep, murmuring. “…my ribs hurt badly…why am I on the floor…” Candy angled her gaze from the floor to the standing Misty. The fear in her eyes dwindled, worried blue replaced for relief. “Misty…” Misty rolled her eyes, openly displaying her disgust. She groaned, letting a hand on her hip slide lazily to the ground. The prostitute glanced aside bitterly, closing her eyes. “Please…do not make me regret waking you. Get up…” The blonde’s lower lip trembled, Barbie like features sad. “I…don’t think I can. Not on my own...” Cursing to herself, Misty pulled the blonde to her feet, hoping in the end it would all be worthwhile. She helped Candy walk, guiding the pale blonde out of the remnants of the bordello and into the trash laden streets. There wasn’t much difference from either one, crater after charred out crater covering the burnt landscape of the new world. The two females walked aimlessly, a stunned loss and bewilderment in both of their eyes. Nothing was recognizable, the area quiet and lifeless save for the crackling of dying flames. Misty gulped in disbelief and to relieve her drying throat, her last theory causing an involuntary shiver. The world went crazy and launched nuclear weapons…and I’m breathing potentially radioactive air. The thought of not breathing came to mind, Misty quickly dismissing the ludicrous idea as Candy began to cough. Noting a slowdown in her movements, Misty fiercely shook the hacking blonde. “Come on, bad enough I have to hold you, don’t get sick on me!” Candy tumbled out of Misty’s hold, falling to her knees. She coughed into her hands, bowing her forehead to the ground as tears streamed down her eyes. “Not sick…it hurts…inside me,” Again, she hacked, this time, her palms becoming stained with a combination of blood and saliva. Candy chuckled weakly to herself, lying down on the ground. She rolled onto her back, blue eyes glossy but holding only wonder. Internal bleeding…this I did not foresee. Misty sighed heavily, sitting down sloppily next to the dying blonde’s head. She looked over Cici, quirking a brow. Shuffling her hand into her bra, Misty took out her lighter. Her hand found a cigarette inside her skirt pocket. She lit up the cancer stick, speaking coolly. “If I knew this would happen, I would have left you in the dressing room. No point in taking a corpse with me…God knows I’m not nice enough to bury you.” “But you’re nice enough to stay…” whispered Candy quietly. She inhaled the cigarette smoke serenely, a thin line of crimson sliding down her jaw. Misty faltered in taking a drag. She resumed without hesitation, grey eyes glancing aside. “We all have our reasons for the things we do….” Candy chuckled weakly. “…it just goes to show…you’re not as much of a bitch as you put on. Deep down you’re a ni-” Candy widened her eyes, cut off by the cigarette forced in between her lips. She took a drag, letting the smoke leave her nose, throwing a confused baby blue to Misty. Pointing her cigarette to Candy, Misty scowled. “You’re giving me too much credit. And making me sound like cliché…please, you make it sound as if I’m gonna plan on remaking the world. Not this girl. I had the worst screw in the world. Then all this happens. Then you’re croaking on me. A Triple XXX store better be left standing. I NEED a rabbit…” She trailed off, somewhat amused by the blonde’s giggles. “Single minded nympho…” Candy continued to giggle through coughs of scarlet and smoke, the tears that had been streaming down her cheeks dying down. She glanced aside, resting a hand on her stomach. “…I woulda done ya if ya let me. But…wanna get…mushy…once. You think death’ll be better…will I dream…?” She smiled weakly, bubbly blue eyes losing their life. Burning out her cigarette, Misty ground the filter into the ground. She arched a brow, completely emotionless. “Of course you will hun…in dark and silence but it’ll all be lovely. Anything’s better than this existence,” She let the cigarette fall from her fingers, tentatively reaching out to the blonde’s throat. Unable to find a pulse, she closed the woman’s eyes with her left, letting her right hand wander to in between her bra. Misty methodically pulled free the small baggie tucked in between Candy’s bust, a smile almost tempted to split her lips. “I’ve done enough and deserve it. It’s all all all All ALL for me…not anymore…doubt you’ll need this in the afterlife…” She pocketed the G-14, repeating herself. “We all have our reasons for the things we do,” Misty bounced to her feet, a little content. “Least I got something out of this deal. Sweet dreams.” She blew a kiss to the deceased Cici. Swiftly turning away, she pocketed her hands, strolling through the aftermath of the apocalypse… (ooc: I’ll continue this tomorrow. For now, it’ll have to do. Sorry for any errors :\)

With a half smile Jade followed the little girl, or Katie as she said her name was. What the fuck is ST-003 mean anyways? Jade decided not to pursue it, the little bit of peace that she had now she wanted to keep. At least until I can drop the brat off somewhere...
Jade came alongside Katie, simply looking ahead, towards the gas station they were nearing, once or twice looking back to the other kid to make sure he was following. "So..." Jade started, her hands hugging her stomach out of hunger. "How old are you Katie?" She figured it best to start out slow, then work up to why the hell her name was ST-003. I swear to God, I am going to wake up any second and this will all just be a dream... Jade picked at her leggings, the once red fishnets now holy and frazzled. She pulled down her mini skirt and adjusted her top, a little uncomfortable in the messy clothes she was wearing. Ah well.. not like I'll see anyone I know...... they're all dead...... Man I wish I had my MP3 player....

"Four, actually. You'd be surprised. In fact, I can guess that there's a lot in this "brave new world" that will surprise all of us."
Katie responded a bit cryptically, continuing walking along the street. She looked out the side of her eyes every few steps, glancing at Jade and also looking back towards the boy. It seemed a bit odd, that there was only three of them within hearing distance. It just didn't feel right. Then again, it's not like she had ever actually been outside the lab before. She only knew these things from books she had read, and even that was likely to be skewed. Maybe it was normal to be so deserted. However, she seriously doubted that. What would be the use of all these buildings if the place was always deserted. Logically, it made no sense. And so she assumed it was because of the accident, the meteorites and everything.
Reaching the gas station, they found it surprisingly intact. One wall was down in the southern corner, but besides that, the place was pretty good. Walking up to the door, Katie pushed on it hard, and it surprisingly swung open, free of constricting debris. Surprise surprise surprise. She stepped into the little gas station, and peered around, her eyes not having to adjust because half the ceiling was gone and sunlight streamed in through the gaping hole. Looking around, she felt her inadequacy hit, as she knew she couldn't see over the tops of the aisles. Hell, she barely reached Jade's belly button. Moving forward, she held the door open for Jade and then began to walk to the ends of the aisles, looking for the food aisle.
The entire place was a wreck, of course. Shelves were thrown about by the southern side, the entire cash register and desk was buried under the rubble of a meteorite, and there were no lights besides the open ceiling. However, at the northern edge of the store, the aisles were fairly orderly and fairly neat, so Katie made for those, trying to keep away from the meteorite area. Walking across the aisles, she peered, looking for any food she could find. Soon enough, she found it.
"Hey, over here. Here's some stuff." She looked to see what she had found. Most of it was snacky-type stuff, chips and pretzels again, which she had lived off of for the past two days. That didn't look especially appetizing to her, not at all. However...there was something in the aisle that caught her eye. She moved forward, and picked it up off the shelf.
"Snowball..." she muttered to herself, looking at the pink confectionary. It was garish, and round, and ugly looking. And yet...strangely appetizing. She pulled on the wrapper, opening it up with her little hands. Taking one of the two snowballs, she brought it to her mouth, and very cautiously took a small bite. Not disliking it, she took a larger bite. Liking it now, she took a very large bite. Before she knew it, both snowballs were crammed into her tiny little mouth, and she was chewing away happily, munching and licking her lips. She tried to shout out "Hey! These are good!" to Jade and the other boy, whose name she didn't really know, but all that came out was a mumbled "Mrph, mrm mmmrmr gommrm!"
Piling a bunch of the Snowballs in her little arms, she looked around at the rest of the food. Peanuts, candies, little chocolate...things. They were things she had never really eaten before, in the lab. They had only fed her processed, fairly flavorless "nutritional" foods at the lab, that's all she had ever grown up eating, so she wasn't quite used to stuff like this. However, she was sure she'd have to get used to it soon, because there wasn't anybody to make the "nutritional" food anymore.
Taking her arm-full of Snowballs, she moved back towards the back of the store, where the Employee's Only section was. Surely there had to be something back there, more boxes of Snowballs or something, right? That would be the logical place to put them.
As she reached the door, though, she heard something with her four year old ears. They were keen, and sharp, and she picked it up immediately. There was a rustling in the back room, as if something was moving about. And way down low on the auditory scale, she heard something that sounded like a low, rumbling fall of rocks. Was this what the books had meant by the word "growling"? That's the only logical thing she could think of, and it scared the hell out of her.
"Ummm...guys..." she said quietly, backing away from the door. "There's something in there, I think..."

The DDR guy…what are the odds? Her grey eyes narrowed, Misty slowing her rapid walk into the heart of the ruined city. The lack of shoes did nothing to help her aching feet, Misty growing fatigued even after days of unconsciousness. She exhaled heavily; dropping into a crouch by the battered body of the man she dubbed ‘the DDR guy’. “Pity…” Her hand skimmed the side of his cheek, fingers brushing back a strand of wavy raven behind his ear. She sighed. “…you were a good screw too, Mr. DDR.” The guy she dubbed Mr. DDR said nothing in response, a dry pool of crimson by his bloodied forehead. His hazel eyes stared lifeless to her lap, white earphones dangling limply by his slack jaw. Searching his jeans, she switched on the blackish silver MP3 player. She took one of the earphones and slid it into her ear, not surprised by the faint trance music heard from the small speaker. “Ready steady go…that’s not too bad a song to die to,” She laughed to herself, agitated she even knew the name of the song. Misty had never been the brightest prostitute nor had she been the most enthusiastic, but she never forgot a face; the dead man before her no exception. He had been one of her more frequent customers, Misty thinking him somewhat of an enigma considering he didn’t look half bad…and he always specifically requested her services. Even stranger than his pickiness was he always wanted background music from the game, the sex depending on the tempo of the music. At times, it had been interesting, while other times it had been a heavy mood killer. “Still…” Misty carefully closed his eyes. She snatched away the MP3 player, gliding it into her pocket. She brushed her lips over his cheek before getting to her feet. “You were interesting, hun,” Another sigh slipped from her, the situation seeming hopeless. Forcing away her worries, she put in the earphones, the techno and trance music having to suffice until she ‘borrowed’ something better. Continuing her promenade through the city, an involuntary shiver left Misty. She rubbed her shoulders vigorously, examining the area in search of anything useful. Her eyes finally fell on the remnants of a store, a sole standing mannequin the only sign it had ever been a clothing boutique. The white eyed mannequin seemed to beckon her, hand extended out into the open, so like the lost wanderer she was, Misty sauntered up to the shattered doorway of the shop. She stepped through the display case and past the Styrofoam dummy, trudging through the pile of shirts and skirts. She kicked aside a bounty of shoes and shorts, eventually finding a suitable outfit for the scenario. A plain pair of low rise jeans, a black belt, a white ripped midriff shirt, black boots, and a shabby black backpack to complete the look. Upon exiting the store, Misty winced whilst she fixed her top, a flare of sunlight hitting her eyes. She put an arm up to block the light, choosing to carry her backpack in her hand rather than over her back. Cautiously stepping into the open and still under the sun’s harsh scrutiny, again, something managed to pique her interest. She burst into a full run, dashing insanely to the crumbling store juxtaposed a former Starbucks. Flying into the former grocery store, Misty drowsily looked the place over. The cereal and household cleaning aisles were complete wrecks, corpses buried beneath fallen over shelves. The meat and dairy aisles were catastrophic, the rancid scent of spoiled milk and rotting poultry unbearable. It was enough to cause someone holding the strongest of constitutions to empty their insides, so horrible was the smell. Misty coughed, slapping her palm over her nose as she forced the rising bile back down her throat. She ignored the dried food aisles, the cappuccino aisles, even the junk food lanes, heading down a clear path to the fruits and vegetables. She checked the peaches and apricots, shoving the occasional carrot inside her bag. “How about…that? End of the world makes eating choices easier. Besides…I’ve always wanted to be a full blown vegetarian. For all the wrong reasons but yeah…” Risking a breath of the toxic air, she started to stock up on canned fruits, her bag surprisingly light despite the load. Turning down the liquor aisle, she cracked a smile, a bottle of Jim Beam Black having survived the apocalypse. “I thank whoever rained hell down on the earth for having piss poor fucking aim…” She tucked away the whiskey, dancing up to the cashier register. Her happiness died down some at the candy selection. “Snickers…they had to hit the snickers,” She scowled, taking a three musketeers and an almond joy, dumping a whole pack of York Peppermint patties inside her bag. “Least I have one good candy…” The former prostitute could only curse beneath her breath, leaving the remains of the grocery store. She carried her bag in her hand, letting the oddly lightweight backpack dangle carefree. Perky music the only thing keeping her going, she soon gave into her hunger, munching on a carrot as she neared the back alleys. The smell of gas lingered in the air, the fumes from an explosion bringing moisture to the woman’s eyes. Misty made a left at an intersection, a burning building greeting her. She pulled out a cigarette, placing the tip of it into the fire. She would’ve used her lighter but at the supermarket it had torched a cigarette (along with singeing her fingertips) so that was out of the question. And no way am I chancing lighting up that G-14… Misty took a long drag from a Salem cig, the pungent smoke filling her lungs bringing a calming sensation to her nerves. Bobbing her head to the insane techno music in her ears, she crept along the side of a gas station, not thinking to enter the intact building. She had pillaged enough for the time being. Closing her eyes, she started to dance as she walked. She only faltered in her steps at a movement from the shadows, her dance turning slow as the alarms went off in her mind. Misty came to a stop completely, letting the song finish as she took a hard look to the ground, to the disfigured shadow hovering behind her. Dropping her cigarette, she grounded it out. She pivoted in step, facing the figure behind her. Meeting a set of glistening white teeth, a menacing growl left the seven foot being. It stood awkwardly on two hind legs, torso a slimy polished brown. Its face was contorted into a permanent scowl, none of its part in the right place. The hands held four fingers, each clawed, its black eyes good for the night time and even better for the day. It lunged towards the prostitute with a horrifying shriek. “You better get the fuck out my face,” automatically left Misty’s mouth, she swinging her bag to meet the creature’s jaw. Her bag, apparently, wasn’t as light as it felt, it causing a sickening thud on impact. The creature stumbled back, stunned by the blow, the circumstances finally beginning to register in Misty’s mind. It was the post-apocalypse, the world had turned into an even bigger shit-hole than it had been before, strange…things now occupied the planet…and to top it off, she had just attacked one of the strange things and held no other –effective- offensive tactics. Her eyes darted from the growling creature to her bag, then back to the clearly pissed off being. She snorted in disbelief and at her stupidity. “Holy shit,” She fought the temptation to laugh as it sprung to her position, choosing to run to the back door of the gas station. Shouldering the red door open, she hastily locked it, bracing the door with her back. A loud thumping followed her move, Misty chuckling lowly at her luck. “God damn…it can’t get worse than this…” It did. From her position at the door, her earphones now by her waist, she caught the voice of a child. A very young and very mature…child. Hesitating, Misty leaned off the backdoor, swinging her backpack over her shoulder. She dug out her lighter from between her bra, flicking it on. To her astonishment, it illuminated the room with the power of a 150 watt bulb. So the rule is true…in ANY horror movie a lighter = high beam powered flashlight. She scoffed, boots crushing opened bag of chips as she neared the supply door. Her free hand wrapped around the handle, Misty swinging open the door rapidly. What greeted her vision was truly the unexpected. In the background was a boy with a twisted baseball bat, clothes messy from the day’s events. A Japanese chic stood in the center of the room, hair a combo of colors and face not the friendliest. Standing in front of her was a blond haired, blue eyed little girl. Her eyes were truly a breathtaking feature, deep sparkling pools of cerulean able to tear through ones soul and beyond. Misty stared down to the girl from a scintillating grey, the wavering flame of her lighter bouncing an indescribable shimmer into the woman’s eyes. She broke the stare, coherent logical thoughts beginning to form. Oh...hell...no… Misty had never been one for kids, she had never been one for anybody for that matter. Almost pulling a one eighty, the menacing growl from behind her forced the woman to keep her attention on Katie, Jade and Max. “Cõno…” Misty slapped a hand over her eyes, closing the door with a foot. The growls slightly dimmed, she moved her hand from her face, not addressing anybody in particular as she made an inquiry. “Would there happen to be more than just the three of you…?” …or is whoever watching up there really have that twisted of an imagination…?(ooc: blah, couldn’t think of a proper ending )

"Ummm...no. Who the fuck are you? And what is that sound?" Katie managed to mutter, dropping her armful of Snowballs. The woman who had pushed her way through the door seemed out of place, almost uncomfortable in her appearance. As if she wasn't used to wearing the clothes she was wearing. On her face was a surprised/shocked/scared/hopeless expression, one that defied Katie's preconceptions of meeting people. Maybe things were different after the accident...that would make sense. Katie's deep blue eyes stared into the woman's, and she found herself strangely drawn to the older female. She wasn't sure why...she just felt...attracted to her. It was the oddest sensation, and Katie wasn't sure what it was exactly. All she knew was that there was definitely a drawing there, and she couldn't resist it. Her blue eyes met the woman's gray ones, and they stared at each other for a long moment.
Until suddenly a sound caused their eyes to split apart. A sound like a tearing of metal and wood, a sound like the crashing of something big through a wall. The sound of the creature bursting through the door on the other side of the woman. Katie didn't know what it meant, but the others surely did. It sounded like something had finally gotten in. They heard it ripping through the storage room in a rage, searching for the woman who had hit it with her bag, crashing through the boxes and containers to find where she had gone to. It wouldn't take long for it to find the door into the gas station, and when it did, it would crash in and rip them all to shreds. At least, that's what it sounded like it would do.
"Uhhh...uhhh....let's get the fuck out of here!" Cried Katie as she heard it get closer, and turned to run out the gas station door. At that moment, the beast found the storage room door. Slamming through it, the door slammed outward and knocked Misty down to the left, luckily out of the way of the rampaging creature. But Katie was still standing right in front of it.
The creature looked the young girl straight in the eye, and she shivered in fear and loathing. The creature was tall, insanely tall, and twisted-looking, as if there were no parts of it that fit right. It might have been a dog-bear hybrid maybe, or something similar to it, because it seemed to have the muzzle. But that was the only thing familiar on it. The rest of its body looked deformed, dislocated and, overall, malnourished. It was a nasty looking beast, and it headed straight for the little girl.
Katie was frozen in fear as the thing slouched through the doorway. She had started to back away, but couldn't move anymore. Not that it would have mattered anyways, the thing was far too fast. It glided forward, and in a split second had crossed the gap between itself and Katie. Suddenly, with a strange bestial snarl, it leaned down and bit the little girl, hard, on the shoulder. Its pearly white teeth gripped her hard, and she felt flaring pain all the way down her arm and down her ribs as well. Crying out, she groaned and tried to pull away. But instead, the beast lifted her up off the ground, and shook her violently, like a ragdoll. She felt sick to her stomach as the creature twisted and shook, slamming her side to side, its teeth digging in even deeper. Whipping its head around, it suddenly let go, and Katie went crashing through the aisle, slamming into a shelving unit and actually knocking it over with the force of her passage. She lay there in the wreckage of the shelf and did not move, her eyes closed and the sweatshirt torn.
The beast turned towards Jade and Max, and began to move forward, growling low in its throat and looking even more menacing. They were doomed...

"Thank the good sweet God in heaven..." Jade murmered, grabbing some pretzels and Sun Chips, her most favorite of salty confections. "Now, what I wouldn't do for some Yorks..." Her hazel eyes scanned the layout of the gas station, coming across a discarded tote bag with an employees name on it. Quickly picking it up, Jade had it almost filled with bottled water and other types of non-perishable food items when Katie got a little worried about something. "What is it runt?" Jade said, in a somewhat pleasant voice, the finding of good un-spoiled food lightening her mood. Before the small child could answer, in came another woman, clean clothes and a large black backpack.
Katie, always quick to blabber, said the first thing that was on everyones mind. "Ummm...no. Who the fuck are you? And what is that sound?" Jade quirked an eyebrow at the woman, her ears obviously damaged from one too many concerts. "I don't hear anything." She was quick to say, turning around to look for more food. It was just at that moment that Jade heard a deafening sound, even to her noise-trained ears. It was the sound of metal grating and wood splitting. Something was coming.
"Oh....Shit...." murmered Jade, turning around to see Katie dashing off towards an exit. Before she could move, or yell out to the young girl, the beast was on her, it's teeth sinking into her flesh then discarding her with a sickening crash. "KATIE!" Jade heard herself scream, her tone, frankly, more frustrated than worried. Narrowing her eyes at the beast, Jade stuck her fingers in her mouth, a shrill whistle following. "Hey ass-face!" she taunted, getting the beasts full attention. He was closing in on her and the other boy, and Jade was quick to shove him behind her. With a deep gravelly growl, the beast licked it's lips, ready to feast on Jade and the other, who were much more meaty than little Katie.
With quick movements, Jade found a wooden beam that had fallen in the crash, about the size of her bokken. "Now we're in buisness." The Japanese almost smiled as she took a defensive pose, finally, she could take out all her agression! The beast lunged at her, mouth open, ready to sink it's teeth in her flesh. "Oh hell no!" Jade cried as she pushed the pre-teen behind some boxes in a corner and side-stepped, causing the creature to connect with a wall, face first. Wasting no time Jade lept onto the monsters back, connecting the edge of the board with a pressure point on it's neck. She used the board as a saw, working it in hard, causing great discomfort to the beast. When Jade saw he was beginning to turn over, she dismounted from her position, throwing her arms back and slamming the board on the back of his head once, knocking him back to the floor, then two more times, her strength suprising for her size.
It seemed, though, that the beast was not done with her, a clawed hand reaching out and grabbing her ankle. Jade was thankful for her combat boots, their thick material blocking the claws from digging into her skin, but they weren't much help in keeping her upright. With a dreadful thud, Jade's legs were swept from under her, and she fell to the ground, her back taking most of the brunt, but her head connecting with the floor on a bounce. The Japanese winced from the severe pain that shot from her head all the way down her spine, and the beast wasted no time in clawing it's way up her leg. After a moment, Jade regained composure, and realised the board had flew just out of her reach. "DAMN!" She cried, half from the pain, and half from the realization that she had no weapon. The beast had made it's way to her thigh, it's teeth sinking into her left leg, blood spurting from the deep wound. Crying out, the pain brought tears to Jades eyes, but her fingers inched towards the board. Just as the beast was going to tear her leg clean off her body, her fingers found the board and she slid it to herself, getting a good grip and then smacking the monster on the side of his head with a force so great it knocked him clean off her and a few feet away. Jade had just enough adrenaline running through her veins to hobble over to the monster and whack his face untill it stopped twitching.
Jade could feel her leg going numb, the blood oozing from the wound. Her head wound had begun to bleed once more, and the last thing Jade felt was her body collapsing to the floor, and her vision going dark. Some fucking hero... was the last thing that went through her brain before she passed out completely.

Katie woke up slowly, cautiously, as if in fear, but she did not open her eyes. What had happened? She couldn't remember a thing, she just felt...painful. Like...like something had thrown her across the room. Her whole body ached with pain, but especially her shoulder and her head. But why? What had happened? An orderly must have been carrying her and dropped her. That's what must have happened. An orderly had dropped her, and the doctors were looking at her now, and she would be ok. She was tempted to just roll over and go back to sleep, because it hurt, and she didn't want to feel it right now. But instead, she opened her eyes, and prepared herself to speak harshly to the doctor when she saw him.
As she opened her eyes and saw the busted ceiling of the gas station above her, it all came flooding back. Jade, the boy, the woman...the beast. It came flooding back in a tidal wave of memories. She gasped, and struggled to her feet. She was in a shelving unit, the scattered remains of some medical supplies like bandaids and gauze pads covered her body, and the shelves were sticking into her back. She struggled up, getting into an upright position, and finally she got there, standing in the midst of the mess and not quite sure where everybody else was, seeing as how she couldn't see over the aisles. That's when she heard it...the sound of a body slumping to the floor.
Quickly, she jumped out of the shelf and ran over to the other aisle, where she knew Jade and Max had been. And there, she saw it. The beast, its head beaten in and unconscious, if not dead. And Jade, her little body torn apart, her leg bleeding a puddle of fluid onto the linoleum floor, her body unconscious. Katie took only a moment to see it all and realize what had happened. Jade had fought the beast, and had won. But that victory may cost her her life. Rushing over to the Japanese girl, Katie knelt down beside her and looked her over. She was a bloody mess. Her head was bleeding slightly, and she might have a concussion. Her leg was torn up, big bite marks and claw marks oozing blood. And the final bite, high up on her thigh, might have punctured the femoral artery, which would kill her in minutes. Katie nearly sobbed, she wasn't sure what to do...it was all happening too fast.
Quickly, she tore off the sweatshirt that Max had given her, and slipped it under the girl's leg. Taking it, she thought to yell out for someone to help her tie it. But instead, she took it in her hands and pulled hard, and to her surprise it actually tightened enough to be useful. She pulled again, harder, and it tightened to a point where the bleeding was being staunched, and the artery was being blocked. Tying a tight knot with the sweatshirt, she applied pressure to it, pushing down hard with her hands, trying to keep the leg wound from bleeding. And she reached up to Jade's wrist, which lay close to her, trying to feel for a pulse.
"Somebody! Help! God, she's bleeding pretty bad! Get some help somebody!" the little girl yelled to the other two in the gas station, hoping that one of them would be alert enough to go do something. And she pressed her little hands onto the sweatshirt, keeping it pressed down hard and trying to keep the wound from bleeding, as she knelt there, her little naked body tiny compared to Jade's.
That was when she noticed something. The bite marks on Jade's leg...those had been pretty nasty. If that creature had bitten anybody, it would have torn some ghastly holes in them. And the thing had bitten her. She looked down at her shoulder, and in wonderment, shook her head. There were a few teeth indentations on her shoulder, nothing more. Somehow, even though the creature had bitten her hard enough to cause pain and discomfort, it hadn't broken the skin. Amazing. And even as she sat there on top of Jade, pressing the wound, she felt the pain was subsiding, slipping away. Almost like the pain of a bruise...it hurts for a while, then it disappears. Only this...she should have been torn apart, she should have been bleeding. The teeth should have gone through the skin. But she was not, not at all, and they hadn't. Confused, she looked down at Jade's face, and sighed.
"Whatever the hell is going on, I don't understand it. But please, Jade, don't die on us now! Don't die, please don't die! Come on Jade, wake up, come on...." she muttered softly, and sighed again in worry.

Max had followed them a bit stupidly, pushed aside the two arguing amongst themselves, starting a rather sarcastic relationship. He followed slowly looking about, not wanting to really lead them back to the center he had awoken from, he did not feel welcomed, and would not be welcomed with bringing more people. He slowly dragged his bat along the ground, not noticing how it pushed aside any debris that might catch it and tear it from the boys tight grasp. Max grumbled, white shirt torn and ripped, shorts frayed in several spots, shoes beaten up with holes. H sighed and looked up hearing the call of food, smiling at the promise of clenching his thrust with actually clean, bottled water. And food, what he wouldn’t do for some food, anything really stale gas station pretzels or hotdogs, junk food for free, a boys dreamland! He was on it fast munching, shoving it into his face ignoring the others as he tore into packages of beef jerky, and oversized cookies. An that when this little dreamland cracked shattered and erupted into flames. All good things must end.. He didn’t hear much of a growl but definitely saw the older women come through, her and the young girl having a moment before it was ended by loud thrashings and clawing. The door busted into chunks of wood and the beast had gotten to Katie, Max had screamed out muffled by bits of food flinging from his lips, and Katie was out cold gone K.O. This was some time of demon hunter video game live and in 3D, but Max was not armed with silver tipped bullets or wooden stakes…Jade was forward angry, pissed. But Max remembered, he was not armed with long swords or machine guns but with a bat, and by his estimates a strong bat. He could wield it fiercely, had blown a wall to pieces! He stepped forward, some odd courage pumping into him, angry even, emotional over all this action and this beast was a perfect target! But Jade, foolish, silly Jade..pushed him aside, taking the offensive, thrusting him into some boxes of random food products. He had groaned standing ready for battle, ready to show these girls, these women he wasn’t just a little boy! He was a man, and he had power in the tight grip of his pale hands! He was a bit too late and Jade was out, Player 2-Game Over. But the mission had been completed, the game boss had been slain at the cost of another players lost. But he had to try and save her had to try and revive her, grabbing random packages of medical supplies off a wall he flew down to Katie’s side, applying pressure, using his strength and pushing her small frail hands aside. She was still breathing, she was still living…she just needed help, help that that famous scientist could give right now..the one he never found. He WOULD NOT be a failure at everything, he would not fail this stranger, this beautiful stranger… Tossing the bloody sweatshirt aside he wrapped the wound sin gauze, using way too much and going through three rolls fast, applying medical tape and band aids here and there holding her thigh tightly ceasing blood flow, tissue healing itself..She would be saved, he had done all he could, she was still alive..leg bent and misshapen, would be hard to walk a bit by his guess. At long last after around 15 minutes of panicking he stepped back looking over his medical work..”She’ll be alright I think..she’s breathing and she’s not loosing anymore blood but she’s weak…I don’t know what else to do, we don’t really have a hospital to run to.

Katie pulled back as the boy came over to Jade, taking control of the first aid and tying the girl up nicely. The bleeding was soon stopped, at least temporarily, and the gauze was holding the wound closed. There were other, more superficial wounds down the girl's leg, and her head was still bleeding slightly. But Katie believed she would be ok.
The little girl got up as Max wrapped the leg and took an extra roll of gauze. Very carefully, almost tenderly, she wrapped Jade's head, just enough to stop the bleeding but not enough to block her eyesight or her hearing. Taking a piece of medical tape, she strapped down the gauze and then waited for Max to finish, watching him carefully. She might have to do this again some day, and since there were no doctors, she would have to learn how to dress a wound. The boy seemed to know, so she watched him closely, learning from him.
As soon as he was finished and said his bit, Kate walked over to him. She was little, and even as he knelt on the floor, she was just a bit past eye level for him. She put her hand on his shoulder, and patted it comfortingly, in an oddly maternal gesture.
"You did a good job, boy. A good job." She didn't know his name, but she felt that now wasn't the time to ask for it. With that, she turned and walked back over to where Misty was, pushed off in the corner of the room, looking a little more than shocked. Katie got so she was eye level with the prostitute, and spoke softly to her.
"Are you ok? Who are you? Do you know anything about that...that thing?" And before the woman could respond, the little girl said, "You can call me Katie if you want. So what's your story?"

They say you can have entire dreams within seconds. In the few minutes Jade was asleep, she dreamt of a swirling black cloud, red eyes and sharp claws, overtaking the beautiful blue sky and casting her entire world into darkness and evil. Just as the cloud was enclosing around her, claws outstretched, eyes glittering, Jade awoke with a hacking cough, saliva and dust escaping from her mouth. She groaned, and lifted her hand to wipe her face, eyes fluttering open slowly.
Jade took in the scene around her, not knowing where she was at first. There were shelves overturned, food and medical supplies on the floor, and a boy kneeling next to her. It took staring into that boys eyes for a good three seconds before it all came flooding back to her. The meteors, the beast, Katie... "KATIE!" Jade cried suddenly and sat up, too quickly, and fell back down. Vision dizzy, she tried to focus on the boy in front of her, but which one? She waited untill the many images of him became one to inquire about the young girl. He told her she was fine, and Jade relaxed, rubbing her temples, trying to focus on anything but the pain, which was strangely going numb as she lay there.
After a few minutes she looked herself over, to check out the damage. She was greated by torn up clothes, a hiked up skirt, and gauze. "I look like a fucking mummy...." She laughed, and quickly pulled her skirt down, hoping no one noticed. With a sigh, Jade put a hand on the shoulder of the boy, and stood, slowly, and with alot of help. "Oy, this is not going to work..." she murmered, and looked around for something to use as a cane. "Ah-hah!" With some grunting, and stretching, she reached her trusty wooden plank, and used it instead of the boy to hobble around. "Well then..." Jade said while grabbing her tote bag full of food and supplies and shuffled over to where Katie and the new girl stood, the pain in her leg lessening with each step. "We should get out of here before we get more company. And your welcome for saving all your asses. And by the way, who the hell are you?" Jade pointed her cane/plank at the woman to add to the question. It was obviously on everyones mind. Who was this woman bringing danger with her?

"JADE!"
The Japanese girl suddenly felt a small pair of strong but tiny arms encircle her waist, or the front half of her waist anyways. Little naked Katie, her arms barely reaching around the slim girl's waist, was hugging her as tight as can be. In fact, it kind of hurt Jade, the little girl hugged her so hard. Jade wasn't sure how the little girl had that much muscle strength in her, but she did, and she squeezed her hard, really hard. Jade could feel the girl happily hugging her, relieved and happy that she hadn't died. Katie couldn't contain herself anymore...she felt the tears begin to flow.
That was when her logical mind took over. Suddenly, she backed away, looking amazed at Jade. Did she really just hug the young woman? She had never purposefully hugged anyone in her life! In fact, she always treated hugging as a kind of insult to the person being hugged, a condescension that Katie did not like one bit. She hated being hugged by the new orderlies, she absolutely abhorred it, and did everything in her power to stop it from happening. But now...now she had hugged the girl without a single thought, acting completely on impulse and doing what she felt was appropriate. But a hug? Feeling suddenly ashamed, and not a little bit childish, she shook her head and looked down at the floor, her cheeks burning red.
"Nice to see you back in the world of the living, Jade. And...and...thank you. For saving us, that is." She muttered quietly, almost too quiet to be heard. Then, with a sudden anger, she turned on the woman on the floor, and took out the shame and frustration she felt towards herself on Misty.
"Yeah, who the hell are you, what the hell are you doing here, and why the hell did that beast follow you? Answer us, god damn it! You've already started out on the wrong foot with us, bringing a damn monster in here to eat us, and now you won't speak! Answer damn it!" She said, leaving Misty no time to answer. It was obvious the little naked girl was ashamed and taking it out on the woman, but that didn't make the fact any better.

(ooc: something told me to check this earlier…why didn’t I listen to it…lol…uh…anywho, a little busy so this’ll have to be quick -_-")
Misty blinked repeatedly to Katie as she started on her rant, looking up to the smart mouth toddler in a stunned awe. Never in my fucking life… The apocalypse she was slowly beginning to accept, the massacre of most of mankind didn’t bother her too bad, and the beastie that had nearly killed her she was more than willing to get over. A sense of shock still filled her from watching the Japanese teenager’s little combat show, the prostitute cringing at the worst parts…but in the end Jade had turned out okay. Well… Maybe not okay, but the point was she was still alive. However…this? Being cursed out…by a two year old no less?
The prostitute struggled to her feet halfway through the little girl’s demand. She glanced aside, a bitter scowl gracing her features. Its times like these where the ‘can’t have kids’ bit is fucking heaven, I swear… Hearing Katie’s final demand leave her, Misty walked up to the little girl, grey eyes glowing in a kamikaze of emotions. “Done? Good.” The twister of emotions were replaced with an expression of pure innocence, Misty’s childhood and her parents disciplining flashing through her mind along with her rarely, if ever used…motherly instinct.
For a second, Misty wiggled her fingers in front of her face, analyzing her hand carefully. She looked from her open palm to the impatient little girl, finally resting her hand down by her side. Misty sighed, in a sudden move, cuffing the little girl lightly upside the head. Jade gave her an evil look, Misty shrugging off the glare. She twisted her lips into a smile, cheer unable to reach her eyes. “Automatic thing, not use to being talked down to…by adult or child,” She looked down to the little girl. “And yes, while you talk far more mature than anybody your age, you are still a child.”
Craning her neck, Misty started to walk over to the register, halting her step at the large amount of debris covering the area. So much for finding a shotgun…or knife…or a fucking form of defense. She slapped her hand over her forehead, turning to face the three pairs of watching eyes. Contemplating in what order to answer the questions, she decided to start with the question of the beast. “Okay…to clarify, I didn’t ‘bring’ the beast with me, it followed. I’ve just been wandering around, lost survivor in this post apocalyptic/nuked hell that is the earth. My name’s Cal…” Misty trailed off, her eyes narrowing little by little. She couldn’t remember the last time THAT name had ever left her lips. She chuckled, a guilty giggle in the torn room. Running her fingers through her hair, she resumed. “Call me Misty.”
Knowing the pause was somewhat suspicious, Misty strolled over to the door. She leaned her back to the wall, looking up to the wild blue yonder. “We ARE in a gas station…why didn’t you just lead the thing to the gas pumps…light it up? But that’s just my destructive nature talking…” Her grey eyes reluctantly turned back to the three. She toyed with her tongue ring, pausing with her fingers to her lips. “Is there a plan from here or do we play the role of wanderers/survivors and see where that takes us?”

Katie's jaw dropped about two feet as she was cuffed lightly upside the head. It didn't hurt, not at all, in fact it felt like only the lightest of touches. But the reason behind it was undeniable. And the message behind it was unavoidable. SHUT UP! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU'RE A KID, I'M AN ADULT, LEARN YOUR PLACE YOU LITTLE BITCH! All that had been said, with that one simple motion. Misty had silenced the little girl, because she was beyond shock, beyond anger, beyond anything she had felt before. Nobody, and that meant Nobody, had ever hit Katie before, for any reason, in any type of situation. Nobody. She wasn't even sure how to react, what to do, where to go from there. Misty went on talking, introducing herself and giving her explanation of what had happened and her little opinions on what they should have done, and Katie just stood there, a look of shock and outrage on her face. Then, suddenly, she closed her mouth with a firm snap, stepped forward, and stood in front of Misty.
The little girl was tiny compared to the prostitute. She looked less than a quarter Misty's size. And she was naked as the day she was brought from the tube, naked and quivering with rage. Suddenly, she pulled her hand back and whipped it out explosively, right at Misty's knees. Misty, expecting a blow from a child that couldn't do anything to her, stood still and waited to accept the blow. But she had misjudged the little girl.
With a solid thwack sound, Katie's hand came in contact with Misty's knee. Misty suddenly gasped in pain and was thrown to the side by the force of the blow. Even Katie looked stunned, not expecting the hit she had aimed at the woman to do that much damage. But she took it in stride, and walked over menacingly to the fallen Misty, standing over the woman's head. Speaking in a soft, cold, venomous voice, the little girl spoke, her lisp making it all the more eerie.
"You had better get used to being talked down to...because that's all you deserve. Trash."
With that, and a grinding of her little heel, Katie walked straight out the gas station door.
Not quite stomping, more than a little bit imperial and definitely offended, Katie walked over to the curb and sat down. So this was how it was in the outside world, huh? Maybe it hadn't always been like that...maybe people had been nicer. She didn't know. But from what she had seen so far, all she had felt was insult and fear from this strange new world. Insulted by both Jade and Misty, frightened nearly to death by that creature, thrown like a rag doll and hurt, even though it was healing...this place was Hell to little Katie. It was worse than Hell. It was reality.
Suddenly, she just couldn't hold it back anymore. Bowing her head down into her little hands, she began to sob. It started slow at first, with little snuffles and hiccups of sadness. But soon, it was a deluge of heart-wrenching sobs, tears cascading down her little pink cheeks, running down her naked chest and pooling on the ground. She cried and cried and cried. She bawled her eyes out, crying like she had never cried before, even when she was a baby. What would she do? Where would she go? Everybody hated her, she could see it in their faces. Everybody hated her or feared her, for some unknown reason. She was a cast-out among the remnants of civilization, the end of the world and she was the one being thrown out. It hurt her, deep down inside, it hurt her in a place she didn't know even existed. It hit a chord deep in her heart, and that chord resonated with one thing: loneliness. She had been alone all her life, and now, her one chance to be outside and in the real world, her one chance to fit in...and she was alone again. And it was all her fault. All her own damn fault. It wasn't Misty or Jade or that other boy...no, not them. It was her. She was the bitch, she was the shrew, she was the asshole. It had all been her fault.
She sat there with her head in her hands, on the curbside after the end of the world, where there was nothing left but rubble and monsters and people who could be monsters, and she cried. She cried her heart out.

A strange radiation has plagued the earth. Seemingly coming directly from the strange meteorites that had rained down. Odd things are happening and no one really understands…things change.
Name: (Perhaps you make one up now, or pick a nickname?)
Appearance: (Mainly clothes, perhaps your appearance has changed also)
Items: (any)
Radiation Effects: (Items, body anything may have changed..strength, weapons, speed, reflexes, anything could have changed keep them somewhat minimal, don’t be like superman suddenly)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Name: Max
Appearance: He is still the short little geek, but now his perfect little shoes are muddy and have large holes beginning to form. His shorts are frayed, and his white shirt has a few holes, mud and dried blood on it. He looks overall un-showered and a bit wild. Hair everywhere cake din mud and dried blood.
Items: A twisted, charred wooden baseball bat. It is still somehow intact. Stealing from the store, he now has a few plastic bags full of food and other random objects tied together and slung over his shoulder by some rope he found.
Radiation Effects: Bat of Rage- The twisted bat he found, is twisted in more then one way. This bat glows with a bazaar orange radiation, changing in brightness as the person who holds it emotions change. When in a state of rage this bat seems to be able to block any strike and crash any objects into tiny bits. But even in general sue this bat seems to give the wielder strength that would put Babe Ruth to shame.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Max Looked back and forth between the two, still happy and gloriously proud of himself that Jade was doing alright. He felt like he was some famous military doctor, and had just saved a man who had got shot. But his attention was taken back to the situation at hand. The two, so ruthlessly fought the little girl..not so girlish. She did not speak with a cute innocence. She was harsh of tongue and full of rage. She had HIT this older women, brought her down, and then proceed to tromp out and pout..more..cry. Max was a bit overwhelmed but took a look to Katie, bending down to offer Misty a hand. ”I really don’t understand it..we found her in a pile of rubble..naked as is…” He smiled a bit to the girl, his cheeks flushing a shade of red once he looked over her obviously shapely and perfectly curvy form. But he smiled to her boyishly, slowly he was forcing himself not to be shy around women..as he was surrounded by 3. That’s right…he was the only man, he was the alpha male. Ha! Look at my might!.
